Background: Ward rounds are a cornerstone in the educational experience of junior doctors and essential part for teaching patient care. Here, we aimed to assess the doctors’ perception about ward rounds as an educational opportunity and to determine the obstacles to conduct a proper ward round in Sudanese hospitals. Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted from the 15th to the 30th of January 2022, among house officers, medical officers, and registrars in about 50 teaching and referral hospitals in Sudan. House officers and medical officers were considered the learners, while specialist registrars were considered the teachers. Doctors' perception was assessed using an online questionnaire, with a 5-Likert scale answering questions. Results: A total of 2,011 doctors participated in this study (882 house officers, 697 medical officers, and 432 registrars). The participants aged 26.9 ± 3.2 years, and females constituted about 60% of the sample. An average of 3.1 ± 6.8 ward rounds were conducted per week in our hospitals, with 11.1 ± 20.3 hours spent on ward rounds per week. A large majority of the doctors agreed that ward rounds are suitable for teaching patient management (91.3%) and diagnostic investigations (89.1%). Almost all the doctors agreed that being interested in teaching (95.1%) and communicating appropriately with the patients (94.7%) make a good teacher on ward rounds. Furthermore, nearly all the doctors agreed that being interested in learning (94.3%) and communicating appropriately with the teacher (94.5%) make a good student on ward rounds. About 92.8% of the doctors stated that ward rounds' quality could be improved. The most frequently reported obstacles that were faced during ward rounds were the noise (70%) and lack of privacy (77%) in the ward environment. Conclusion: Ward rounds have a special value on teaching patient diagnosis and management. Being interested in teaching/learning and having good communication skills were the two major criteria that make a good teacher/learner. Unfortunately, ward rounds are faced by obstacles related to the ward environment. It is mandatory to ensure the quality of both ward rounds' teaching and environment in order to optimise the educational value and subsequently improve patient care practice.

Since they were first recorded in 1660, ward rounds have been a useful resource for medical education for both students and teachers. It has become vital to continue making efforts to enhance the educational value of ward rounds as a result of the deployment of innovative educational methodologies over the past several years, such as the clinical skills lab, small group vacillated session, and problem-based learning. The Sudan has never carried out a research of this nature before. As medical students at Sinnar University strive to do better, it also offers a framework for productive rounds and common difficulties they encounter. To gather information from all medical students who have attended rounds, a survey was done utilizing a Google form. Ninety-three percent of medical students strongly agree or agree that "ward rounds have been an excellent chance for clinical examination, ninety-one present for history collection." The biggest challenges are a lack of time and the ward atmosphere. The most crucial elements of a good round When it comes to physicians, students choose a professor who is enthusiastic about teaching, gives them the chance to practice, lets them interact with patients, asks good questions, and provides adequate feedback. Word-round contuse could serve as a crucial instrument in medical education.
Background : Dengue fever (DF) is now widespread throughout tropical and subtropical nations , There have been DF outbreaks during the last few years in Sudan, Up to now there is a lack of information regarding the awareness, attitudes, and practices of the population for DF protection in their settings, the aim of this study is to apply KAP model about DF among adults in sennar state in central sudan as one of the expected risk areas for the DF . Methods: The cross-sectional study conducted in selected area with high population in sennar city in sudan, from 1st to 15th of jan 2023, We used face-to-face interviews to collect data, The main analytical procedure was descriptive using frequencies. Results: Even though the majority of respondents (79.4%) had heard about dengue, they still have misconceptions about the breeding grounds for Aedes, more than half of the participants (64.3%) believed incorrectly that Aedes can breed in contaminated water and 21% were aware that Aedes mosquito usually bites around sunrise and sunset. Fever indication was identified by 45% of people which is the most common symptom of dengue .The level of education of the respondents was found to be an independent predictor of both knowledge and awareness of dengue among the socio-demographic factors. Although there was a significant correlation between knowledge and preventative behaviors, the degree of preventive practice was moderately less than the knowledge level ,according to our study, TV and radio are the most effective primary sources of information regarding preventive practices. Conclusion: in this study most of the participant have a positive background on various aspects of the disease, and apply appropriate preventive practices against DF, Health education via various media should be continued to raise community awareness and dispel misconceptions regarding DF .
