In this paper a new approach for design of fixed order H controller is proposed, controller performance is indicated by single cost function i.e. stability margin. The nominal plant has been shaped by choosing the weighting functions. The corresponding cost function is obtained by applying the McFarlane and Glover procedure, the desired controller structure with few parameters has been specified as PID controller and the H norm of closed loop transfer function and specific controller parameters are optimized by using the immune algorithm. The resulting optimal controller stabilizes the system and guarantees for the performance. To check the usefulness of proposed approach, resulting controller parameters are evaluated for performance via system simulations. Simulations results reveal the efficiency of proposed approach.
Evolutionary optimizations techniques (EOTs) are stochastic search techniques that direct a population of solutions towards best possible results by using the natural principles. In recent years, these algorithms have grown to be an accepted optimization tool for many areas of scientific and engineering research, together with control system engineering design. Significant research exists concerning evolutionary algorithms to control system design and robustness performance analysis of controller. But, little work has been done with evolutionary optimization algorithms because of the problems related with robustness performance in early period of the evolution of controllers. Moreover, until recently the robustness performance of controllers based on evolutionary algorithms has not been researched in stipulate. The scope of this research covers generalized robustness performance condition and detailed analysis of the resultant control system.
This paper deals with design, implementation and the performance analysis of Tabu search (TS) algorithm based PID controller. The experimental results demonstrate that implantation of TS-based controller designed by the suggested technique can deliver the finest system response as compared to the conventional techniques. The TS algorithm based design of controller using the suggested technique could be used to produce a software package for engineers to achieve the optimized controller design. This paper presents the optimized PID controller design for the system using the TS algorithm. The resulting output responses using the TS design is superior to that of the conventional method can also be used to support the simulation effects. These effects demonstrate that the suggested design method is very suitable for engineers. Moreover, the suggested technique can provide the best output performance with the stable operation confirmation.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
