Big Book is an especially characterized storybook that being enlarged, both the text and the pictures and designed as interesting as possible so it could motivate the students in learning the lesson in school. Big Book media in this research was developed based on local wisdom in Baduy as the effort to introduce the local wisdom values in Baduy custom area, so it may grow the love towards the local custom. The benefit of using the local wisdom based Big Book is the teacher can easily interest the students to focus on the story that will be read and make it easier for the students in understanding the material because the contents of the material are related directly to the student's daily life. From the data that have been gathered, there are 79.7% to learning material expert validation and 83.41% to learning media validation. So, it can be concluded that Big Book media is appropriate to be used in the learning process.
This study aims to determine student learning outcomes by using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) Learning Model implemented with teachers at UPTD SD Negeri Tapos 5 Depok City. This research uses Classroom Action Research (PTK) developed by Kemmis and Mc Taggart which is carried out in stages through two cycles. Each cycle was carried out in stages from action planning, action implementation, observation/evaluation, and ended with reflection. The research subjects totaled 31 students who had different characteristics with the number of males 15 students and females 16 students. The stages are carried out according to the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) Learning Model procedure. The results showed that there was an increase in student learning outcomes as evidenced by the average in cycle I was 79.68 with a percentage of 75.94% increase in cycle II to 85.48 with a percentage of 83.80% with an increase of 7.86% in the "Very Good" category. Based on the findings during the research, it can be concluded that using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) Learning Model can improve the learning outcomes of grade V students at UPTD SD Negeri Tapos 5 Depok City in science subjects on the material of vertebrate and invertebrate animal locomotion. These results are expected to have a positive impact on students and become an insight for teachers in carrying out learning activities at school.
Learning and intruction of mathematic is a process intended for facillitate condition of studentin learning environment atmosphere that will influenced on increasing student achievement in mathematics. Learning outcome problem which happening today on mathematics study in elementary school is focus just one aspect, there is the cognitive aspect. The purpose of the research is to enhance student successfully in mathematics in elementary schools. This research used qualitative and emphasize of data analysis process for comparation conclusion from literature review in several scientific journals. Result of the research find that used the Open Ended Learning model can elevate cognitive aspect in leaning outcomes in mathematics, in other hand can involve all of student to develop their creativity and active in mathematic learning, so that students can feel their confident to built mathematic mind set for answer each of the problems through various strategy. Therefore, this reseach conclude that used Open Ended Learning model as one solution for improve students mathematic learning in elementaryschools.
Becoming a teachers means always encourage yourself for longlife education. This is one of the benefit in Teacher career. We used to be learn anything and everything to update our professionalism. As a Teacher, we should be aware of teachers world, knowledge, technology, and student needs changing. Indonesian Government facilitate it through PKB (Continuity Profesionalism Development) program. PKB goals is to increasing teachers career competence continualy. Although Government publish this program since 2009, Education and Culture Departement of Sukabumi City started it in 2015 October. This lateness becoming our concern to organize a PKB Workshop specialy for elemetary school teachers. This workshop attendence by fifty teachers from seven distrik in Sukabumi city. The Workshop goals is to diseminate PKB and how to running it in teachers career. Beside that, the workshop also trained teacher how to entablish class action reasearch. This workshop held in three days from 2nd to 4th November 2016. From the workshop we know that PKB is very important to increase teachers competence and to maintain teachers career.
