Browsing social media is a common daily activity for most people all around the globe nowadays regardless of age and gender. Although the frequency, duration and motive of browsing social media differs from one person to another, the existence of employees who have social-media mania and keep browsing social media all the time even during their working hours causes the employers to monitor their employees‘ social media use intensity at workplace from time to time. This study looks at the level of social media use intensity at workplace among Human Resources executives of a government agency headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Questionnaires were used to collect data on the sample. Due to its quite small population size, total population sampling method is applied. Out of 68 executives, only 30 completed the questionnaires (response rate = 44.12%). Findings revealed that the sample have high level of social media use intensity at workplace. However, there was no statistically significant difference between social media use intensity and gender. Other than that, it was found that the main motive behind using social media at workplace is interpersonal. As for the implications of this study, it contributes to the corpus of knowledge in the area of social media use intensity at workplace in local organization context and provides empirical data to assist organization in conducting appropriate policy to control social media use intensity at workplace among their employees. Effective teams help smoothen organization’s management and increase its productivity. This studyinvestigates level of Team Effectiveness among MARA employees. Quantitative research design wasemployed by researchers for this study. The instrument used was questionnaire with 50 items of close-endedand open-ended form. It was found that the sample has high overall team effectiveness level and also scoredhigh team effectiveness level in all five dimensions that were measured such as team goals and objectives,team roles and responsibilities, team leadership, team relationship and team communication. However,there were no significant differences between team effectiveness and demographic variables such asgender, academic qualifications, years of service and departments. As for the implications of this study, itcontributes to the corpus of knowledge in the area of team effectiveness in local context and providesempirical data to assist organizations in enhancing team effectiveness level amongst employees. Effective supervision received by postgraduate students boosts their motivation to produce a high quality research. This paper looks at the perceived postgraduate research supervisory practices and satisfaction towards supervision among supervisees at Faculty of Education in a Malaysian public university. Data was collected through a questionnaire on the sample of 45 Part 3 full-time Master’s degree (Coursework) students. However, only 33 sets of questionnaires were returned to the researchers (response rate=94.3%). It was found that most supervisees perceived that their dissertation supervisors have continually applied various supervisory practices during the supervision session and they were very satisfied with the supervision that they have received. Furthermore, there was a positive, strong, and significant relationship between the perceived supervisory practices and supervisees’ satisfaction. Nevertheless, there were no significant differences between perceived supervisory practices and courses, as well as between perceived supervisory practices and frequency of meeting. As for the implications of this study, it contributes to the corpus of knowledge in the area of postgraduate supervision in local higher education institution context and provides empirical data to assist the Ministry of Education in conducting strategic planning to enhance implementation of effective supervisory practices among postgraduate research supervisors.
