Objective: Assess clinical supervision factors as perceived by nurses and first line nurse managers at Assiut University Hospital, and explore the relationships among personal characteristics and clinical supervision factors of studied nurses and first line nurse managers.Methods: A descriptive design was utilized in Medical and Surgical departments at Assiut University Hospital for A convenience sample of first line nurse managers (N = 30) and nurses (N = 151) by using study tools for nurses included two parts: 1) personal characteristics data sheet; 2) clinical supervision factors, and Study tool for first line nurse managers included two parts: 1) personal characteristics data sheet; 2) clinical supervision factors.Results: The highest mean scores were in trust and rapport & Supervisor advice and support of clinical supervision factors among the studied nurses. While among first line nurse managers' the highest mean scores were in improved care and skills & personal issues and reflection of clinical supervision factors.Conclusions: The most important clinical supervision factors which had the positive correlations were between finding time and ward atmosphere with age & years of experience with importance and value of clinical supervision among the studied first line nurse managers, while there was a negative significant correlation between age and trust and rapport & leadership style of the ward manager among the studied nurses. Nurse Managers should direct, monitor and evaluate the staff nurses through scientific standards of supervision as recommendation for the study results.

Background and objective: Nurses in primary health care are a considerable group of professionals working in the health sector and an adequate quality of working life will empower them to provide favorable quality care to their clients. Further, a better quality of working life can keep the employees focused and support them to strive effectively towards the organization’s vision. The aim of the study was to explore the relationship between nurses' empowerment and quality of work life at primary health care centers in Assiut City.Methods: This study was conducted in a descriptive correlated manner; the population consisted of the Assiut city primary health care centers nursing staff (n = 85). Self-administered questionnaire consisted of three parts: 1st part-Personal characteristics data questionnaire, 2nd part-Work Empowerment Promoting Factors Scale, and 3rd part: Quality of Nurses' Work Life questionnaire.Results: There were significant negative correlations between quality of work life and empowerment factors among studied nurses.Conclusions and recommendations: Workshops on the quality of work life skills for nurses and nurse managers should be done periodically, nurse managers in MCH centers should provide nurses by sufficient information, guide and resources, Nurses in primary health centers have to remain allowed to participate in decision making process to empower them, as like properly as growing theirs effect on autonomy, and First line nurse managers should periodically have nursing group meeting to verbalized, vitalize and support peer and social interaction.
Background: The clinical learning environment is an interactive network of forces within the clinical setting that influences learning outcomes. It includes everything that surrounds students and affects their professional development in the clinical setting. Aim: was to determine internship nursing students' opinions of factors affecting their clinical learning environment in Assiut University Hospitals. Study design: A descriptive design was used. Setting: Assiut University Hospitals-Assiut Governorate-Egypt. Subjects: The study sample consisted of 200 nursing internship students. A self-administered questionnaire to gather data about personal characteristics and clinical learning environment. Results: Displayed that the high mean scores and standard deviation of the internship nursing students opinions involved instructor, learning objective, and clinical environment factors respectively. In addition, there were negative correlations in scores of internship nursing students' opinions of their clinical learning environment (learning objectives, instructor, how to deal with students in clinical settings & clinical environment) and their residence with statistically significant differences respectively except for supervision and evaluation factor. Conclusions: The most influential factors affecting the students in the area of clinical practice are the instructor, learning objectives, and clinical environment. Recommendations: Developing "Clinical Practice Guide" based on the job description for internship nursing students training areas.
