This study tried to portray English as a foreign language (EFL) teachers' pedagogical competence and readiness in maintaining the 2013 curriculum. The demands of the 2013 curriculum lead the teachers to have a good quality of teaching. It is essential to know teachers' pedagogical competence because that aspect will be piloting the implementation of the curriculum in the classroom. This study aimed to investigate the EFL teachers' pedagogical competence and readiness in the implementation of the 2013 curriculum. This study used mixed methods with triangulation design. The data were collected by semi structure interview and close ended questionnaires. The data were then analyzed, described, and interpreted comprehensively. The result of this study revealed that EFL teachers' pedagogical competence is appropriate to the demand of the 2013 curriculum. The teachers show their enthusiasm and readiness in implementing the 2013 curriculum.
Salah satu upaya bagi guru dalam mengembangkan karir adalah dengan melakukan penulisan karya ilmiah dalam bentuk buku dan artikel ilmiah terpublikasi. Karya ilmiah menunjukkan bahwa guru benar-benar menguasai kompetensinya sehingga layak disebut guru profesional. Karya ilmiah berupa buku dan artikel adalah tulisan guru mengenai kajian pendidikan serta metode pembelajaran yang dilakukan. Kesulitan guru untuk menyusun karya tulis ilmiah dapat dimaklumi karena secara umum guru belum terlatih serta belum pernah menyusun karya tulis ilmiah. Untuk menanggulangi kendala yang dihadapi para guru di atas maka perlu diberikan pelatihan pembuatan karya ilmiah beruoa buku dan artikel dengan menggunakan aplikasi Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK). Berdasarkan hal tersebut, maka pengabdian ini memberikan pelatihan penulisan buku dan karya ilmiah berbasis TIK untuk guru di SMA Negeri 8 Batang Hari. Hasil dari pelatihan ini adalah guru dapat memahami tata cara membuat karya tulis ilmiah berupa buku dan artikel untuk menunjang karir yang selanjutnya akan berdampak pada peningkatan SDM sekolah.
Confidence is a person's belief in the ability possessed to present well in front of others. While asking is one of the elements in learning, and indicates an interaction between individuals.This research is limited to the problem of increasing student confidence in asking questions in class by using group guidance services and using modeling techniques given to class VIII A students at SMP Negeri 17 Kota Jambi. The modeling technique is one of the TT techniques by presenting a pilot to the client about how to do something or how something happens. By seeing, observing or observing other people who can bring a client's understanding and can change a behavior.The type of this research was service follow-up research (PTL). The subjects in this study were 6 students in class VIII A, SMP Negeri 17 Jambi City with the initials, SPR, AZA, WUL, KNA, RRJ and AAL. This research was conducted in 3 cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, implementing, evaluating, reflecting. To see the results of the cycle he did by collecting observation data, interviews, questionnaires.The results showed that modeling techniques can increase students' confidence in asking questions in class. Of the three cycles carried out, the third cycle had the best results, namely the confidence in asking questions in class reached 92% with the accuracy of implementing the techniques carried out by researchers based on the results of questionnaires that had been carried out by researchers for each cycle that had been carried out. Obtain the results of the first cycle with an overall percentage of 12%, while the second cycle with a percentage of 69%. The results of this study are expected to help Guidance and Counseling Teachers to develop knowledge in increasing students' confidence in asking questions in class.
Perencanaan karier merupakan suatu proses bagian dari kesadaran diri kemampuan individu dalam mempersiakan, merencanakan serta mngembangkan kemampuan diri untuk memilih kelanjutan arah karier yang ingin dicapai.kesadaran diriadalah kemampuan individu untuk mengenal dan memahami perasaan bepikir positif, pengambilan keputusan pribadim mempertimbangkan dampak dari pengambilan keputusan. Penelitian ini diambil pada siswa kelas IX di SMA N 3 Kota Jambi sebanyak 8 sampel. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunkan angket, sedangkan teknik analisis data menggunakan rumus formula C,uji normalitas, uji linearitas, seta anaisis regresi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pengaruh kesadaran diri (self awareness) terhadap perencanaan arier siswa kelas XI di SMA N 3 ota Jambi dengan presentase sebesar 46,7% atau 0,467 dengan klasifikasi cukup kuat.
Arabic education is a very important education, especially in the MI Quhas Primary School Dar Al-Masaleh Jambi. English must be approved by a teacher who has English competence. To improve the quality of learning Arabic in the Mi Quhas Primary School Dar Al-Masaleh Jambi, the first central goal to be addressed is the quality of teachers. This can be done through increasing understanding of learning concepts through training, and increasing the competence of Arabic language teachers. This beacuse teacher has a role in assiting the students in learning. The training and dedication efforts was undertaken by the team leacturer of Arabic language education. It was hope that this activity can help Arabic teachers to have some abilities in Arabic education at the MI Quhas Primary School Dar Al-Masaleh Jambi which can improve the quality of language learning arabic as proven by supporting arabic learning outcomes for students.
