The earth is getting hotter. Extreme climate change occurred globally in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. Global warming is a threat as well as human responsibility as the perpetrators of environmental damage. Waste and population growth threaten the function of ecosystem sustainability. From this issue, arises awareness for young people to reconcile with themselves and nature, through a green lifestyle. Green lifestyle is an effort of the youth to contribute, in order to save the ecology. This study's aim is to determine the sensitivity of the youth of the Evangelical Christian Church in Minahasa (GMIM) to environment, by carrying a tumbler as part of a green lifestyle. This research uses a qualitative method, with a descriptive approach through ecological studies. The data obtained are primary data through observation and in-depth interviews with 4 GMIM youths aged 16-30 years, then secondary data through books, journals, and the internet. The results of this study indicates that the green lifestyle of the youth of GMIM by carrying a tumbler, can reduce plastic waste, which also supports the success of youth reconciliation with nature. Apart from oneself, Minahasa social and cultural factors also play a role in preserving the environment.
Orang tua adalah pendidik pertama bagi anak – anak. Kepribadian seorang anak dibentuk dari pola asuh yang diterimanya sejak dini. Anak sebagai peniru ulung, mengimitasi perilaku orang tua, sehingga pola asuh yang diterapkan berperan penting dalam pertumbuhan karakter anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana pengaruh sistem pola asuh yang diterima anak pada pembentukan kepribadian. Subjek penelitian adalah anak – anak dengan rentang umur 5 sampai 7 tahun pada Jemaat GMIM Bukit Sion Taas Manado dan GMIM Abraham Sario Sentra Manado. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara terhadap subjek penelitian, kemudian dilakukan observasi dan pengamatan terhadap hasil data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa anak yang diasuh oleh orang tuanya sendiri, memiliki perilaku yang berbeda dengan anak yang tidak diasuh oleh orang tua sendiri, atau berada dalam keluarga yang tidak harmonis. Anak cenderung meniru apa yang dilihatnya sehari – hari, dan melampiaskan emosi pada sikap dan perilakunya. Dalam penelitian ini, ditemukan bahwa adanya hubungan yang signifikan, antara pola asuh orang tua terhadap pembentukan kepribadian anak. Pola asuh yang baik menjadikan anak memiliki kepribadian yang baik dan disukai oleh lingkungan sekitar. Sedangkan orangtua dengan sistem pola asuh yang salah, menciptakan anak dengan karakter yang buruk dan cenderung bermasalah. Orang tua dituntut untuk mampu menciptakan suasana yang menyenangkan dalam keluarga, sehingga tidak menimbulkan trauma serta gangguan kepribadian saat anak beranjak dewasa.
This paper describes the transformation of gratitude: identity and social relations during the Covid-19 pandemic era in Tomohon. The expression of gratitude to God Almighty (Opo Empung Wailan Wangko) was inherited from the ancestors of the Tou (people) of Minahasa for the yields obtained in the form of offerings. This one gratitude is done every one person in social relations and cultural integration. This article aims to analyze the transformation of gratitude carried out in Tomohon during the Covid-19 Pandemic era. This study reveals the social identity theory from the sociological paradigm by Steph Lawler (2014) which functions as a relationship between relatives as individuals, which in this study is called family, basudara. The article data uses field research with the method of observation and in-depth interviews. The results of the research are expected to help the government and society in preventing Covid-19 so as to minimize consumptive lifestyles and maintain distance. There are three values that are useful for building life, namely the value of brotherhood, mutual cooperation (mapalus) and spirituality.
Perilaku agresi verbal di media sosial dapat dilihat dari komentar – komentar yang diberikan kepada sesama pengguna dan pemilik akun media sosial. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis perilaku agresif verbal yang muncul dalam media sosial. Subjek penelitian adalah para pengguna internet aktif dan pengikut dari tiga akun media sosial, yaitu Instagram, YouTube, dan TikTok. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif, dengan teknik observasi dan pengamatan terhadap ujaran-ujaran yang bersifat agresif pada kolom komentar subjek penelitian. Dalam penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa perilaku agresif verbal dalam media sosial berupa kata-kata yang menjelek-jelekkan, caci maki, dan umpatan.Kata kunci : agresif verbal, media sosial, internet.
This study intends to analyze student learning difficulties in English language courses. This case study was conducted at IAKN Manado, specifically 30 students in the first semester of the 2019/2020 school year from 3 different study programs. Researchers use a classic and individual approach to combine data, and analyzed with qualitative descriptive methods. The results showed that students' learning difficulties occurred due to feelings of compulsion in learning, poor mastery of learning concepts, being unable to remember lessons, and not having the opportunity to practice English. Referring to the findings, it is recommended that the teacher and institutions should facilitate and provide high motivation for the learning process of English.
