This article reviews the breadth of the influence of Arabic on the languages of Nusantara, from the early arrival of Islam in the archipelago to the modern era. 1 Focusing on both linguistics and culture, we pay attention to precolonial exchanges, regional languages -in particular Bima, Sasak, Javanese, Sundanese, and Bugis -and the recent influence of Arabic and Islamic culture on the development of technological products, Islamic financial systems, and Islamic lifestyles in contemporary Indonesia. From era to era, Arabic has not only played a role in enriching the vocabulary of the languages of Nusantara, it has also contributed to the social, religious, educational, literary, philosophical, legal, political, scientific, and cultural domains.
This study aims to describe and analyze religious tourism as an effort to increase the spirituality of visitors or pilgrims in the Tomb of Kwitang Jakarta. Increased spirituality is a process of change from bad to better by constantly carrying out God's command and away from God’s prohibition consistently with the guidance of the values of faith to recognize and understand feelings Self, others, self-motivated, and able to manage emotions in relation to others. Meanwhile, the Sacred Tomb of the Mosque Ar-Riyadh Kwitang is one of the famous religious tourism sites in Jakarta, which is visited by many individuals and groups. This research uses descriptive qualitative approach with the respondent of the sacred grave of Masjid Ar-Riyadh Kwitang Jakarta. This research produces some important points about the process of improving spiritual intelligence through religious tourism. Keywords: Spirituality, Religious Tourism, Sacred Grave Kwitang. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis wisata religi sebagai upaya untuk peningkatan spiritualitas pada pengunjung atau peziarah di Makam Keramat Kwitang Jakarta. Peningkatan spiritualitas merupakan suatu proses perubahan dari yang tidak baik menjadi lebih baik dengan senantiasa melaksanakan perintah dan menjauhi larangan Allah secara konsisten dengan bimbingan nilai-nilai rukun iman untuk mengenali dan memahami perasaan sendiri, orang lain, memotivasi diri, serta mampu mengelola emosi dalam berhubungan dengan orang lain. Sedangkan, Makam Keramat Masjid Ar-Riyadh Kwitang merupakan salah satu tempat wisata religi terkenal di DKI Jakarta, yang banyak dikunjungi oleh masyarakat secara perseorangan maupun kelompok. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan responden pengunjung makam keramat Masjid Ar-Riyadh Kwitang Jakarta. Penelitian ini menghasilkan beberapa poin penting mengenai proses peningkatan kecerdasan spiritualitas melalui wisata religi. Kata Kunci: Spiritualitas, Wisata Religi, Makam Keramat Kwitang.
This paper discovers one of the pesantren models in Indonesia that is considered understudied, the University Level of Pesantren (Ma‘had ‘Aly), pesantren which santris are the university students. Particularly, this paper explains the struggle of Pondok Pesantren Darus Sunnah in facing the challenges of modernizing Islamic Education in Indonesia. Over time, the majority of pesantren adopted modernization to meet the demands from the society and to gain broader recognition from the government. However, the Pondok Pesantren Darus Sunnah is one of the pesantrens that delay the modernization. This paper aims at explaining the reasons for the reluctance of Pondok Pesantren Darus Sunnah to respond to the modernization. To answer the above question, this study employs a qualitative approach with auto-ethnography as the main data-collection tool. The author takes the advantage of the author's experience while being a santri and ustadz at the Darus Sunnah Islamic Boarding School with observations as additional data collection methods. In brief, this study suggests that the Pondok Pesantren Darus Sunnah currently rejects modernization because it reduces the authority and traditional identity of the pesantren. Pondok Pesantren Darus Sunnah prefers to keep the traditional pesantren in line with the advice of the charismatic founder of the pesantren. The traditional model of pesantren has been proven to have produced qualified alumni who play significant role both at national and international levels. This paper also proposes degree equivalence as a solution to this issue of modernizing Islamic education institution.
KH Abdullah bin Nuh is one of Nusantara's scholar who has a significant role in Islamic education. Beside that, he is also concerned with the improvement of Islamic education in Indonesia and vigorously wrote about education. The objective of this research is to increase insight about Islamic education of KH. Abdullah bin Nuh in order to recommend it as reference and to make it applicable with current Islamic education in Indonesia. This proves that KH. Abdullah bin Nuh's thoughts on Islamic education remain relevant to discuss and probably could become alternative recommandation to the development of Indonesian Islamic education.
