The aim of this study was to develop a collaborative learning-based electronic students activity sheets which is valid for the Education of Mathematic and Basic Natural Science course. This research and development used a 3-D model which adapts the Thiagarajan 4-D development research model. This model consists of three stages, namely: define, design, and develop. A series on collaborative learningbased Electronic Students Activity Sheets support college students to be active, interact with each other, and collaborate in the learning process. The results of the development are three activity sheets with different topics. The validation test shows that the Collaborative Learning-based Electronic Students Activity Sheets that has been developed is suitable for use in the Mathematics and Basics Natural Science Education course with a percentage of the validity are 92.36%; 86.11%; and 87.50% respectively.
The main goal of science/chemistry education is achieving scientific literacy for all students. For this purpose, there are some competencies and skills need to be developed in a supporting learning environment. This study aimed to examine students' perceptions on learning environment in the POGIL -SSI instruction in the chemistry solution topic. A quasi experiment with posttest only was designed. The subject consisted of 85 high school students who divided into Experiment group 1 (N = 28), Experiment group 2 (N = 29), and Contol group (N = 28) and were teached using POGIL-SSI, POGIL, and conventional instructions, respectively. Data of students' perceptions was collected using WIHIC instrument (Cronbach Apha = 0.943) and analized using One-Way ANOVA and Post-Hoc LSD test. The result shows that there is a significant difference on students' perceptions among the three groups. However, Experiment group 1 is not significantly different from Experiment gorup 2.
Many higher education institutions in Indonesia have implemented elearning in the lecturing process with the aim of improving the quality of the learning process. Although there are many benefits derived from the implementation of e-learning, the implementation has not been running smoothly. This paper aims to present a literature review on the challenges that faced in implementing and providing e-Learning at universities in Indonesia from various perspectives. The literature review method was used to identify and analyze the literature on the challenges of e-Learning in Indonesia. Through this literature review, it can be concluded that there are various challenges from the instructor, learner, educational dimension, and technological dimension. That four aspects have been revealed which have weakened the success of e-learning implementation on higher education in Indonesia. Analysis of the challenges in the implementation of e-learning can be an effort to explore and determine effective strategies in implementing e-learning in Indonesian universities.
The increased consumer demand for the freshness and safety of food products would contribute to providing new technologies, which could function intelligently and could monitor the freshness of packaged foods. Chemical indicators are often used to monitor the freshness of food, but they have toxic properties and potential carcinogens. Therefore, an alternative method was needed to monitor the freshness of food. This work was aimed to explore the potential of young oil palm fruit skin (Elaeis guineensis), which was carefully designed on filter paper and exactly used as a pH indicator. The pH sensor was developed by simple immersion of filter paper into a solution of E. guineensis young fruit skin extract. Color change of the pH indicator was caused by the addition of various pH buffer solutions and was directly analyzed by colorimetry to obtain the color parameter values (L*, a*, b*, and E). The results obtained that the total anthocyanin content was 0.512 ± 0.019 mg/100 g of fresh anthocyanin in E. guineensis sample. Meanwhile, values of total color change ( E) were found in a linear range at pH (9-11), with a linear regression value at y = 3.7083x + 5.6983, and the value of regression coefficient at R 2 = 0.92021. Meanwhile, the repeatability value of the pH sensor was measured at OD 530 nm and OD 620 nm, at pH (4-12), and found a relative standard deviation value (RSD, n = 5) of (6.35-7.85) %. The developed pH sensor has a wide total color change and has a high potential to be used as a pH indicator. Furthermore, this research will be applied to freshness monitoring in packaging.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
