Cacaban Reservoir is located in the Kedungbanteng District, Tegal Regency, Central Java. The Cacaban Reservoir is a place with various anthropological disturbances such as domestic activity, industrial activity, and other activities that have a negative impact on water resources and can reduce water quality. One way to find out the quality of the waters is based on the analysis of coliform bacteria. This research aimed to determine the water quality of the Cacaban Reservoir based on microbiological parameters, and determine the status of the waters of the Cacaban Reservoir based on the Pollution Index. The method used is a survey method, while the sampling method is purposive sampling at 3 stations (dock, inlet, and cages) with 2 sampling times per station. The parameters observed were coliform and fecal coli with supporting parameters, namely pH, temperature, and Total Dissolved Solid (TDS). The analysis was carried out based on microbiological parameters according to the standards of SNI 06-4158-1996 and the status of Cacaban Reservoir based on the Pollution Index according to the Minister of Environment Decree Number 115 of 2003 concerning Guidelines for Determining Water Quality Status. The Cacaban Reservoir waters have temperature ranging between 29,2 -32,6˚C, TDS 137 -156 mg/l, pH 6, total Coliform 565 -2850 CFU100 mL, dan fecal coli 0 -425 CFU/100 mL. The status of pollution at Cacaban Reservoir (inlet, dock, and cage) is in good condition and meets quality standards.
