This article discusses to reveal students' conceptual understanding in determining the direction of acceleration in two-dimensional movements, with special cases of pendulum motion. To achieve this goal, there are 3 reasoned multiple choice questions which are part of 20 conceptual kinematics questions. The study was conducted on 37 first year physics education master students at Universitas Negeri Malang. This research is quantitative descriptive. Research data shows that students' understanding is still low, only 4 (10.81%) students answer the first question correctly, 3 (8.11%) students answer the second question correctly, and 24 (64%) students answer question correctly. Based on the answer analysis, students are indicated due experience errors, such as (1) the acceleration of the object is always in the direction of motion, (2) at the highest point the object pauses, accelerates zero, and (3) the pendulum had zero acceleration in lowest position because the velocity is maximum.
This study aims to determine the problem-solving ability on the topic of temperature and heat. This research is a survey research. The subject of this study consisted of 118 undergraduate physics education program students’ (46 first-year students, 29 second-year students, and 43 third-year students). The research instrument consisted of 4 essay question questions. The results of the analysis show that students’ ability to solve problems about temperature and heat is still in the ‘novice’ category. In solving the problem, 13.56% of students have completed the Visual Representation stage, 68.22% of students have completed the Describe The Physics stage, 79.45% of students have completed the Plan A Solution and Excute The Plan stages, and 22.67% of students have completed the Evaluate The Answer stage. Most students only use mathematical equations without understanding their meaning.
This article to improve PAIdBP learning activities and learning outcomes for Class IV students of UPTD SDN 02 Simpang Kapuak for the 2020/2021 academic year by using the Discovery Learning model. This article is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was carried out in 2 cycles with 2 meetings for each cycle. The subjects in this study were grade IV students of UPTD SDN 02 Simpang Kapuak for the academic year 2020/2021, totaling 20 people. The data in this study were obtained through the use of observation sheets for teacher and student activities during the learning process and student learning outcomes at the end of each cycle. The data generated in this study were processed and analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The conclusion of the study shows that the use of the Discovery Learning model with the correct steps can increase the activity by an average of 78,78 and learning outcomes of Class IV PAIdBP students become 95% UPTD SDN 02 Simpang Kapuak Academic Year 2020/2021.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
