Exploitation of new tourism site development happened in almost all places in Indonesia. Without a deep study of the environmental balance, the new tourist attraction is exposed through information technology network that resulted in the enslaving of visitors coming to the place. The decline in the quality of the natural environment and the disruption of sociocultural life is an indication to the unpreparedness of unexpected tourist locations through an appropriate plan. The purpose of this research is to analyse the carrying capacity of mangrove coastal area that will be used as ecotourism attraction, by taking case study at Budo Village, Wori Sub-district, North Minahasa Regency, which is also included in Bunaken National Park area. However, there has not been a study on the readiness of the carrying capacity of coastal areas as an ecotourism attraction. Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, a massive tourism industry occurred in various regions throughout Indonesia whose main trigger was the support of the Indonesian government, which established tourism as the leading sector, and the direction of government policies that required other sectors to fully support the tourism sector to rise. However, it seems that the speed of development is not directly proportional to the ability of the community to maintain local identities to continue to exist. The purpose of this study was to determine the understanding of the Budo village community in implementing local identity in developing tourist facilities. This research is in the form of descriptive qualitative approach. The instrument of data collection is questionnaires. It was distributed to 80 respondents spread in Budo Village. The empirical results show that the community still does not really understand the values of local identity in tourism development.
This paper aims to describe the state of cultural heritage sites in Manado City that are poorly maintained, damaged, changed in function, and the challenges of developing Manado city center as a heritage area. In developed countries, the old city area with historic sites is well preserved, even though the old building is located between modern buildings, people still appreciate it and tend to protect it from damage both by nature and by human hands, so that the site becomes a tourist attraction. However, this did not happen in the city of Manado, cultural heritage sites were damaged, stolen, and tended to change functions. Using the methods of observation, documentation, and interviews, the researchers examined the condition of several historical and cultural sites in relation to the development of heritage tourism areas.
