This research study aims to achieve a developing country’s sustainable development in the clothing industry by exploring consumer behavior to a willingness to purchase organic cotton clothing (OCC) and apparel retailers’ responsibilities. Organic cotton clothing development in the fashion industry could play an important role in textile and environmental pollution and create new business opportunities for green clothes. Survey data was collected from top cities in Bangladesh, and 303 useable responses were collected (81.5% male and 18.5% female). In our survey, 60.7% of the participant was employed. This research model was inspired by the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) and added some new variable that influences purchase willingness under OCC fashion in developing countries like Bangladesh. The findings of this study stated that consumer environmental concerns and consumer attitudes positively impact the OCC purchase willingness of Bangladeshi consumers. Also, the authenticity and fashionable of OCC products have a significant impact on Bangladeshi consumer purchase intention. Product Performance found an indirect effect on Bangladeshi consumers’ intention. Furthermore, this study will find that the Bangladeshi market is already very aware of the sustainability movement and concerned about environmental issues. Retailers should focus more on environmental awareness of OCC textile and authentic OCC items. Also, this study will update previous research findings on consumer attitudes toward OCC fashion in the Bangladesh market.
Sports bras have been reported to be a hindrance to the effective workout of females. This study elucidates the pressure distribution in eight different sport bra types of different sizes during shoulder workout activities to address this hindrance. The upper body moves in horizontal, vertical, and circular directions. An observational survey was carried out at the Zhejiang Sci-Tech University gyms, and among 300 females, the majority focused on shoulder workouts. The experiment used pressure sensors to analyze the most significant sports bra for females with a bra size of 34C, 36C, and 38C during three body movements. We conclude the in-depth width of the neckline has an impact on strap comfortability as well as the back design and structure also influence the performance of the back band. Additionally, racerback bras produce less pressure for bra size 34C. In addition, crossing back with thicker and broader straps produces less pressure for females with a bra size of 36C. For bra 38C, a racerback with thicker straps generated less pressure.
The interpretation of pressure between a sports bra and the skin is highly significant to females, marketers, and designers because it helps reduce discomfort. So far, many studies on sports bras pressure have focused mainly on static activities such as standing or sitting and dynamic activities such as jumping, walking and running, skipping, and jogging that cause vertical movement of the body. Therefore, this study focuses on upper body torsion rather than vertical or horizontal motion. The objective is to identify and compare factors that restrict females with large breasts from playing golf using two types of sports bras, an Encapsulation and Compression sports bras. The Novel Pliance-X® pressure system assessed the contact pressures from the shoulder straps, underbust, and backband. The results demonstrated that the underband of both sports bras generated less pressure than other features, while the backband of sports bras produced more pressure. It was concluded that the encapsulation sports bra with a racerback design has acceptable results for females with larger breasts when playing golf.
Most of the research on the thermal comfort of sports bras has focused on fabric differences, whereas the effect of ventilation has yet to be investigated. This study aimed to investigate the effects of ventilation design on the thermal comfort performance and breast displacement. Based on the physiological nature of breast movement and airflow in exercising women, four sports bras with different necklines and ventilation holes were designed. The thermal comfort performance and the reduction of breast displacement of these four bras were compared. Nine healthy women exercised in random order with four sports bras, and then performed a 20-min short duration high-intensity exercise and rest to recover under thermoneutral conditions. Skin temperature and humidity, body core temperature, the reduction of breast displacement and thermal psychological subjective sensations were investigated during the whole experiment. The results indicated that deepening and widening the neckline could effectively increase the airflow pumped in from the neckline, while the ventilation holes could effectively direct the airflow from the neckline to the middle and bottom area of the breasts, significantly reducing the skin temperature, skin humidity and body core temperature ( P < 0.05). In addition, widening the neckline would significantly reduce the reduction of breast displacement, whereas deepening would not. A slightly but not significant increase of the psychological subjective sensation during exercise was observed. These results provide novel information that appropriate application of ventilation design in sports bras could effectively improve the thermal comfort performance without reducing the function of support to benefit exercising women.
Based on the vector diffraction theory, this paper investigates the focusing properties of linearly polarized Lorentz–Gaussian vortex beams with sinusoidal phase modulation and discusses the focused light intensity under different parameters in detail. Results show that the focus pattern in the horizontal direction at the focal region can be compressed by increasing the relative Gaussian parameter w x . As the relative Lorentz parameter γ y increases, the focus pattern will separate in the vertical direction of the optical field. With the topological charge number m increases, a special tunable optical dark trap focusing mode can be obtained. Through changing the sinusoidal modulation parameter n , the regular trilateral, quadrangle, pentagon, and hexagon shapes of the focusing mode can be correspondingly constructed. Besides, on increasing propagation distance z , the focusing mode in the near focusing region gradually extends outside and always exhibits hexagon-shaped patterns, which reflects that this special focusing mode has a good stability. In addition, the optical gradient force distributions and the field intensity distributions in the longitudinal plane are also investigated to illuminate the applications of these alterable focal patterns. Those novel, to the best of our knowledge, findings may be helpful in applications such as optical manipulation, optical focusing, and imaging.
