The aims of this research are to analyze and find the linguistic and non-linguistic faced by Indonesian EFL learners in mastering speaking skill. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis method. The researchers involved as observers and informants who directly engaged in this research. The research data were obtained by involving as the subjects of study. This research focuses on the problems experienced by students in mastering English speaking skill as the object of research. The data collection technique of this research was conducted by observation, interview, and documentation with main informants and additional informants. The researchers used the main data source from the informants’ interview to find out the problems faced by Indonesian EFL learners in mastering speaking skill. Result of the data indicated that Indonesian EFL learners experienced the problems both in linguistic and non-linguistic aspects. The linguistic aspects comprise of: (1) comprehension, (2) pronunciation, (3) vocabulary, (4) grammar and (5) fluency. Whereas the aspects of non-linguistic included; (1) nervous to speak, (2) no motivation, (3) afraid of making errors, and (4) low participation in class. The result of this research showed that the highest percentage that caused students' speaking mastery problems was the linguistic aspect, which reached 77% while the non-linguistic aspect only reached 23%.
This research is designed to measure the effectiveness of learning community technique on English Essay Writing skills, based on the result of preliminary observation which showed that students had some problems that related to the result of their writing skill which still have not achieved the expected aims. This research used classroom action research method involving 30 students as sample of the research. For the data collecting technique, this research used quantitative data and qualitative data. Quantitative data was taken from the results of the pre-test and post-test, while qualitative data was taken during the process of observation and action. Then the results of the research showed that the percentage value of student activity in attending lectures had increased, the result of the percentage increase in student activity seen from the percentage of students who were very active and active in cycle 1 was only 36.7%, then increased in cycle 2 to 63.3%. Then the results of learning to write English essays for students also increased, with an average score in cycle 1 of 60.17 and cycle 2 there was an increase in the average score of 9.96 to 70.13. The use of the learning community technique to improve students' English abilities has a favourable effect, particularly on the growth of students' ability to write English essays.
This research is designed specifically to measure the effectiveness of recitation method based on ICT (Moodle) in learning argumentation writing skills at students of English Language Education Program, Universitas Panca Sakti Bekasi. which based on the result of preliminary observation which show that students learning outcome was still low and there were some problems that related to the result of their writing skills that still have not achieved the expected aims. This research used the method of classroom action research that involved the number of samples in this research were 30 students. For the data collecting technique, this research used quantitative data and qualitative data. Quantitative data was taken from the results of the pre-test and post-test, while qualitative data was taken during the process of observation and action. The research result shows that there is an increase in learning activity and student learning outcomes. The increase is known from the percentage value of student activity in attending learning process has increased, the results obtained in the first cycle percentage is 53%, then there is an increase in the second cycle to 55%. Student learning outcomes also increased, the average score in cycle 1 is 77.47, with the number of students completing are 21. Cycle 2 there is an increase in the average score by 4.13 to 81.6 with the number of students completing are 23.
