The purpose of the research is to produce teaching material of props from scrap materials for system human feasible and practical to be used as a medium of learning in enhancing students' understanding of the concept. The type of research was research and development. ADDIE model used in this reseach contained: 1) Analysis 2) Design 3) Development 4) Implementation and 5) Evaluation. Questionnaire and tests were used as the instruments in data collection. The data analysis in questionnaire forms were statistically using percentage and t test. Pre-test and Post test designed into two groups. Based on the evaluation from the content experts, the value of the material was 82%, 92.85% for instructional media, while instructional design was 87.5%. For the small group the media, it reached up to 84.25%, the field pre-experimment group was 87.89%, while the use of user guide was 87.5%, 85% of instructional media experts, instructional design experts 79.17 %%, the small group bievaluation 84.25%, compared to the experiment group in big number was 86.44%. the result for evaluation of the props materials used were catagorized as excellent. It means t-test for the use of teaching material was equal to 3,586 with sig. of α = 0.005, t = 2.704. The value of t arithmetic less than t table (3.586> 2.704). It was said that the props of scrap materials improved students' understanding of the concept. The indicator for the concepts include memorizing, understanding, and applied to show that there was increasing in the value of the pre-test and post-test the student.
Abstract The Communities in Huilelot and Uiasa Village have the knowledge of traditional medicine by using various types of plants that have medicinal ingridient around them starting from the yard of the house, garden, roadside to the forest. From the Information obtained, this study was aim to determine the types of plants that have medicinal ingridient, medicinal parts/organs of medicinal properties, methods of treatment, diseases that are cured by using medicinal plants by the community and the cultivation of medicinal plants in Huilelot and Uiasa village. This research was conducted in October - November 2017. The method used in this study was roaming, while sampling and data collection of medicinal plants was carried out by exploration methods around the site. The Work procedures include preparation consisting of observation, determination of informants, and preparing tools and research materials. The implementation phase consists of interviews, exploration and documentation and identification. The data analysis technique used was descriptive analysis, which was presented in the form of a table then matches plants with images or examples according to the source of the literature. Based on the results of the study, 31 types of plants with medicinal properties were used by the community. Plant organs used were leaves, stems, fruits, seeds, tubers, roots and all organs. The most widely used part is leaves. The method of concocting is boiling, pounding, chewing, eating directly, trimming, blending and boiling. Most of mixing methode used was boiled. Diseases that can be cured include high blood pressure, blood sugar, intestines, scabies, liver, abdominal pain, hernias, stomach, vaginal discharge, goiter, malaria and heat, uterine tumors, cancer and breast tumors, pain during childbirth, rheumatism, kidney, urine stones, diabetes, myopic eyes, cuts, bleeding, and broken bones or accidents. From the results of the study there were 12 species cultivated at home and in the garden, while 19 other species grew wild (sabana) or not cultivated by the community
Information on plant species, natural dyes and the dying process of the yarn of ikat weaving in South Central Timor is still minimal and not well documented. Therefore, this study aimed to identify natural dye in South Central Timor. The samples were collected by exploration methods. Parts of plants, dyeing processes, and kinds of color were recorded based on observation, interviews with craftsmen and documentation. Our results showed that there are 7 plant species were successfully identified, Curcuma longa L., Indigofera tinctoria L., Morinda citrifolia L., Phyllanthus reticulates Poir, Phaseolus lunatus L., and Tectona grandis. The plant organs used as a source of natural dye are leaves, barks, rhizome, and roots. The method of processing was to be pounded, squeezed, soaked in water and the color produced was red, dark blue, yellow, black, and green.
Pengenalan tahapan gerakan literasi sekolah (GLS), 2). Membentuk tim literasi sekolah (TLS), 3). Membantu penyediaan fasilitas penunjang seperti pengadaan bahan bacaan nonpelajaran, poster promosi gerakan membaca, menata pojok baca dalam ruang kelas, 4). Membuat instrument evaluasi program GLS berupa jurnal membaca harian. Metode pelaksanaan PKM dilakukan melalui tahapan Sosialisasi, Pendampingan penyusunan instrument dan desain pojok baca, serta membantu sekolah dalam membentuk tim lietrasi sekolah. Berdasarkan pelaksanaan PKM menghasilakan adanya pemahaman dan pengetahuan warga sekolah terkait gerakan literasi sekolah, sekolah memiliki instrument literasi berupa jurnal membaca harian, tersedianya pojok baca disalahsatu ruang belajar, serta terbentuknya tim literasi sekolah (TLS).
This study aims to determine the effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) aided by Couple Card media on HOTS students in Biology Science. The method used in this study is an experimental method with a Posstest-Only Control Design. The population of all VIII grade students in SMP N 10 Kupang was 314 students with a sample of class VIIIA dan class VIIID totaling 62 students. The sampling technique used is Simple Random Sampling. Data collection techniques using observation and description test based on the rubric guideline scores. Data analysis techniques used descriptive analysis and parametric statistic consisting of prerequisite test (normality and homogeneity tests) and hypothesis tests (T-tests). Data is processed with the help of SPSS.19 for windows. The prerequisite test analysis results obtained that the HOTS value data of students is normally distributed and homogeneous. Percentage of the average value of HOTS students in the experimental class viewed from the cognitive aspects of analysing 72.65%, evaluating 73.04%, and creating 68.75%. the cognitive aspects of the control class analysing 28.75%, evaluating 30.83%, and creating 31.66%. While the value of the hypothesis test results obtained t value of 12.241 with a significance of 0,000 (2-tailed <0.05) shows that there is significant influence on the HOTS of students who are taught using PBL assisted by Couple Card Media. This can be seen from the increasing interest of students in folowing the lessons, students appear to be more active, competitive, critical and creative in solving problems encountered, and students are able to explore their thingking skills to solve problems in the stages of analysing, evaluating, and creating. this is because the Problem Based Learning model assisted by Couple Card media has considerable potential that is able to develop students high level thingking skills. so it can be concluded that H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected, it means that PBL learning model assisted by Couple Card media influences students' HOTS on natural Sciences.
