This research used quasi-experiment method with The Matching Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design and this research consisted of two classes. The subject of the research was the students of first grade with total number of participants were 45 by using cluster random sampling. The technique of collecting data used multiple choice reasoning test. The technique of analyzing data used normality and homogenous test, N -gain test and t-test were tested by IBM SPSS Statistics 22 and Microsoft office excel. The result of data analysis showed that there were no significant differences of the enhancement critical thinking between the students who studied by problem based learnind and contextual teaching and learning. It can be proven by the students' significant score 0.411 > 0.05, it means that was accepted and was rejected. The result of this research showed that the mean score of N -gain the students who studied by problem based learning is 0.41, meanwhile, the mean score of N -gain the students who studied by contextual teaching and learning is 0.31. The conclusion of this research is problem based learning and contextual teaching and learning can help the students to enhance the critical thinking. AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang belajar melalui pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan pembelajaran kontekstual yang dilakukan di sekolah SMPN 2 Simanindo di Simarmata. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen semu dengan desain penelitian The Matching Pretest-Posttest Control Group. Siswa kelas VII (n = 45) terlibat sebagai subjek penelitian yang diambil dengan teknik cluster random sampling dan penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 kelas. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan dengan 15 butir soal pilihan ganda beralasan. Teknik pengolahan data melalui uji normalitas, uji homogenitas dan N-gain serta uji-t dua pihak dengan bantuan program IBM SPSS Statistic 22 dan Microsoft excel. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara siswa yang belajar melalui pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan pembelajaran kontekstual, dengan nilai signifikansi 0,411 > 0,05, yang berarti diterima dan ditolak. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa siswa yang belajar melalui pembelajaran berbasis masalah memiliki nilai rata-rata N-gain 0,41, sedangkan siswa yang belajar melalui pembelajaran kontekstual memiliki nilai rata-rata N-gain 0,31. Sehingga berdasarkan data penelitian tersebut, pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan pembelajaran kontekstual dapat membantu meningkatkan berpikir kritis siswa. Kata Kunci...
Aves memiliki potensi yang menarik untuk diamati dengan berbagai jenisnya. Penurunan populasi aves banyak disebabkan karena perburuan liar untuk keperluan komersil. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi aves di kawasan Cagar Alam Pananjung kabupaten Pangandaran. Metode yang digunakan deskriptif dengan desain penelitian menggunakan desain point count pada 10 stasiun (titik pengamatan). Hasil penelitian menunjukan terdapat 43 jenis aves yang berhasil diamati pada seluruh stasiun dari 26 famili. Terdapat beberapa jenis aves yang termasuk dalam kategori terancam punah dan rentan. Hasil analisis setiap stasiun dapat disimpulkan bahwa beberapa jenis aves banyak ditemukan dikawasan hutan dengan vegetasi pohon-pohon tinggi hal ini dikarenakan mereka lebih aman untuk berkembang biak dan bertahan hidup daripada didekat pemukiman atau kawasan wisata. Perlu adanya tindak lanjut dari pemerintah setempat untuk upaya konservasi yang lebih serius dimasa yang akan datang agar supaya dapat mencegah penurunan populasi yang signifikan.
This study aims to analyze the students' scientific attitude improvement through virtual lab on invertebrates. The method that used was weak experimental design, with two classes of samples (X-7 and X-8) which has a parallel position as class treatment. The instrument that used for data collection was the scientific attitudes scale form of Likert scale. The results showed that the scientific attitudes improved significantly after virtual lab-based learning on invertebrates (sig-2tailed value <α (0.025)). Increased scientific attitude is low (N-Gain X-7 = 0.10, = 0.16 X-8). Virtual lab program is not a substitute for a real lab, but as a complement for learning of the material that is hard to do in a real laboratory, such as the practicum invertebrates.Keywords: invertebrates, virtual lab, scientific attitudes
This research was motivated to low ability of students in mastering the concept of concept science through the discovery process directly. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of scientific inquiry model to study the improvement of students Science Process Skills (SPS). Research methods was quasy experimental with nonequivalent pretest and posttest control group design. Research was conducted at one junior high school in the city of Padang at class VII . The learning process in this study conducted in 4 times meeting. Collaborate with The type of learning that combines the concept of the learning Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Instruments used in the research were type test an essay, questionnaires, observation sheets SPS, and interview format. Quantitative analysis was performed by using the average difference test (independent samples t-test and Mann-Whitney) with SPSS 16 for Windows and Microsoft Excel 2007. Based on the N gain test average differences of that scientific and guided inquiry model in the ability of KPS students sig test (two-tailed) 0.386 ≥ (α) 0.05. The results of this study showed that scientific and guided inquiry model could improve students' Science Process Skill.
