Health awareness makes individuals make it happen by exercising in the gym, but these efforts have the opposite effect of goals. In March 2020, Indonesia was hit by the Covid -19 virus outbreak, which has been declared a pandemic. This is a problem for both the consumer and the business owner. As one of the fitness centers affected by the pandemic, Star Fit immediately took action using marketing communications. The purpose of this study is to see and describe the marketing communications carried out by Star Fit to convince consumers and potential consumers to exercise again at the fitness center during the pandemic. The method used in this research uses a qualitative approach and case study methods with data obtained through interviews, observation, and documentation. Personal selling during the pandemic is adapting by taking advantage of messaging and calling applications. Digital marketing is carried out through the use of the internet such as websites and social media. Sales promotion takes advantage of the internet in disseminating the promotion. The combination of the marketing communication mix chosen helped Star Fit faced the pandemic in 2020.
Learning evaluation activities are very important to determine the development of student learning and have been carried out directly in the form of a written test (paperbased test). However, during the Covid-19 pandemic, this activity could not be carried out directly as usual due to government and campus policies regarding work from home and study from home. It is recommended that all series of learning activities including evaluation activities be carried out online from home. The WhatsApp application is the platform most widely used in online learning evaluation. The purpose of this study was to determine the perceptions of lecturers and students regarding learning evaluation activities that have been carried out online using the WhatsApp platform. In addition, it is also to find out how the implementation mechanism is applied when online evaluation uses the application. This research employed a qualitative descriptive study. The research subjects were lecturers and students at the University of Samawa. This research was conducted after the Final Even Semester Examination in the academic year 2019/2020. The research data collection instrument was in the form of a questionnaire with a Likert scale and also interviews. The results indicate that the WhatsApp application can support online learning evaluation activities even though the implementation process is not optimal.
The Covid-19 pandemic has caused infections cases and deaths of people, damaged healthcare systems, and declining economies. All countries have responded the pandemic through various policies. The study aims to compare the response of the Taiwan and the Indonesian in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. Qualitative methods are used by adopting a multi-case approach in Taiwan and Indonesia. The data collection technique relies on literature studies sourced from scientific journals, online media, and government policy documents. The data were analyzed using a qualitative descriptive technique involving data reduction and data displaying. The study found that the Taiwan Government was successful because of the government's rapid responses to deal with the Covid-19, even before the first case was detected. The government implemented some efforts to contain the virus: closing entrances in border areas, detecting infected people through massive tests, tracking out infection cases using digital technology, enforcing sanctions to prevent disinformation, reinforcing the compliance of the citizen to the quarantine policies, and maintaining effective communications with its citizen. Meanwhile, the Covid-19 handling in Indonesia was relatively slow. At the beginning, the public officials' denials of the virus existence has caused some problems, such as disharmony between the central and local government and weak coordination, the inconsistency of border entrances policies, limited medical personnel and personal protective equipment, the expensive PCR testing, limited infected tracking, the weak sanctions, and the effectiveness of the government communication.
The implementation of online learning evaluations is better choice during the Covid 19 pandemic. Hence, this study aimed to describe the profiles and perceptions of lecturers and students at Universitas Samawa regarding online learning evaluations in the even semester of 2019/2020 academic year. This study applied a survey method involving lecturers and students as the respondents representing all faculties at Universitas Samawa. The data were obtained from questionnaires using the Google form application and from focus group discussion. The data were analyzed descriptively. The survey results showed that online learning evaluations used several platforms wherein WhatsApp was the most dominant platform chosen by lecturers. The obstacles that most often arose during evaluations of online learning outcomes were the problem of internet connection and the level of students' understanding of the tested materials. Lecturers and students agreed that online evaluations were not easier to do, not more effective, not more interesting, and not fully accessible compared to face-to-face evaluations. The advantages of online learning evaluations according to lecturers and students are that the scoring was perceived to be more objective, and online learning evaluations were considered as capable of increasing creativity and training students' thinking skills.
