Nowadays, urbanization involves a symbiosis of architecture, nature and agricultural activities of a person. The inclusion of agricultural facilities in the structure of the city becomes a topical task of architects. In this case, a necessary condition is to use modern achievements in the field of technical equipment of buildings and structures, corresponding to the possibilities of plant's growth and life. Well-coordinated work of specialists in various fields as biology, chemistry, sociology, ecology, construction and architecture will allow to create modern complexes in which plant cultivation will be closest to the natural conditions and allow people to live in a comfortable, environmentally friendly world. Recommendations on urban planning, technical and constructive possibilities of including agricultural objects in the structure of the city and buildings will probable help to expand and increase the importance of this sector of the economy. Urbanization and compaction of urban areas increase the need for citizens to communicate with wildlife and also with plants. Using intellectual systems in the field of agriculture, it is possible to create settlements that, like living organisms, could adapt and rearrange, change their design parameters in accordance with human need and changing environmental conditions, while remaining in harmony with nature. Urban agriculture can make an important contribution to ensuring household food security, especially in times of crisis or food shortages. Consumers, especially residents of low-income cities, as a result of gaining access to fresh products in a wider range and at lower prices.
The article reflects the issues of transformation of landscapes damaged by craters of spent stone quarries located in urban and suburban areas to create safe and favorable conditions for human life. The following issues are considered by the author: planning organization of the site taking into account the specifics of the terrain, natural and biological factors; design practice of object construction with various types of civil purpose (residential and public buildings); use of certain compositional techniques; development of an artistic and imaginative solution in a harmonious relationship between the aesthetics of technogenic landscapes and objects of new civil use.
The translational shells are arised by moving generatrix line along directrix line. Four shells of similar overall size and rising height are modelled in the present job, each generatrix coincide with directrix, the symmetric square plane is considered. The surface types are: surface of translation of circle along circle, catenary along catenary, sinus along sinus and ellipse along ellipse. The behaviour under equally distributed load like self-weight of 4 types of shells is considered, equally distributed load case while supporting on four corner points is considered. The solution is obtained by means of finite element analysis. The ratio of bending and membrane stresses is of interest as the criterion of optimal operation under load. The equalent von Mises stresses for abstract material with characteristics of reinforced concrete are obtained to reveal the most dangerous zones and evaluate the overall stress distribution. The study is of interest in view of perspectives to introduction into practise of structure elements of such shape.
The article reflects the specifics of land development and construction in the Arctic North. It is necessary to use climate information effectively to select the best solutions and to avoid undue overestimation of the cost of facilities, increased heat loss, low heat resistance and strength affecting overspending. Recent trends in the context of dynamic climate change leading to rising sea levels, and possible flooding of coastal areas of the Arctic Seas are considered in this paper. The authors underline a great danger to infrastructure in result of possible destruction of coastal areas.
