One of the goals of learning mathematics is that students have the ability to solve mathematical problems. The objectives of this research are to: (1) Analyze students' errors in categories of low basic mathematical ability in completing tests of mathematical problem solving skills; and (2) to know the cause of the mistakes made by the students on the category of low basic mathematical ability. This research uses descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects of the study were 9 students of grade 5th SD N 4 Puyoh, Kabupaten Kudus selected from the category of early mathematical ability of low level students. Subjects are selected by considering the teacher's explanation in the research class about the students' ability to express opinions or the oral way of thinking. The determination of research subjects is based on the results of students 'problem solving skills tests and students' maths early test. Methods of data collection in this study are early mathematical ability test, problem solving test, and interview. Data analysis in this research is done with stages that include data reduction, data presentation, and draw conclusion and verification. The results showed that the cause of the mistakes made by students in completing the test of mathematical problem solving ability in the low student group are: (1) Students do not read the problem carefully so that there is information that is missed; and (2) Students can not mention what is known completely, do not identify what is known exactly so that it causes incorrect interpretation. ABSTRAKSalah satu tujuan pembelajaran matematika adalah agar siswa memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) Menganalisis kesalahan siswa pada kategori kemampuan awal matematis rendah dalam menyelesaikan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis; dan (2) Mengetahui penyebab terjadinya kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa pada kategori kemampuan awal matematis rendah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek penelitian adalah 9 siswa kelas V SD N 4 Puyoh, Kabupaten Kudus yang dipilih dari kategori kemampuan awal matematis siswa tingkat rendah. Subjek dipilih dengan mempertimbangkan penjelasan guru di kelas penelitian mengenai kemampuan siswa mengemukakan pendapat atau jalan pikiran secara lisan. Penentuan subjek penelitian didasarkan pada hasil tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dan tes kemampuan awal matematis siswa. Metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah tes kemampuan awal matematis, tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah, dan wawancara. Analisis data pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tahap-tahap yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan menarik kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penyebab terjadinya kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa dalam menyelesaikan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis pada kelompok siswa rendah adalah: (1) Siswa tidak membaca soal dengan seksama sehingga ada informasi yang terlewat; dan (2) Siswa tidak bisa menyebutkan apa yang diketahui dengan lengkap, ...
The purpose of this study is to examine whether the achievement of student's mathematical understanding skills learned through discovery learning with hands on actiities assesment is higher when compared with students learned through expository learning. The research is quasi experimental research that located in MTS NU Nadlatul Athfal, Dawe, Kudus Regency. The research used non equivalent control group design. The instrumen used in this research is a tes of students' mathematical understanding ability. Data will be analize with quantitave deskriptif analysis and quantitative statistical analysis. The statistical tests used are Shapiro Wilk normality test, Levene Statistic homogenity test and independent sample t-test. The results showed that the achievement of students's mathematical understanding ability that learned through discovery learning with hands on activties was higher than students learned through expository learning. Thus, learned through discovery learning assisted hands on activities assesment can be used as an alternative learning mathematics to improve students' mathematical understanding skills.
The study purposes to analyze mathematics national examination (UN) items, which are guessed to be multidimensional, with MIRT to see test dimensions and item parameters. The analysis is expected to conclude quality of item and test more precisely. This study will examine the response patterns of 3299 DIY students who work on 40 multiple choice mathematics questions package 1 in UN in 2015. The research process begins with Principal Component Analysis (varimax rotation) analysis, analysis fit model of test with signed chi-squared, estimating parameters based on on the dimention of factors according to the results of the PCA, and the conclusion. The results of the analysis show that the Mathematics Examination Package 1 is divided into 3 factors, there are several items that measure more than one ability, and there are 1 items that must be removed because the difficulty level (MDIFF) is in the very easy category.
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan rata-rata motivasi belajar siswa kelas VI yang signifikan antara sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan media permainan edukatif “ular tangga matematika”. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode penelitiannya adalah pre experimental design. Adapun desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah one group pretest-posttest. Subjek penelitian yang digunakan adalah siswa kelas VI SD 2 Ternadi, Kabupaten Kudus, Jawa Tengah. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket motivasi siswa dalam belajar matematika, perangkat pembelajaran dan lembar observasi siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan rata-rata motivasi siswa yang signifikan di kelas VI SD 2 Ternadi antara sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan media permainan edukatif “ular tangga matematika”. Dengan demikian, adanya media permainan edukatif “ular tangga matematika” menjadikan proses pembelajaran matematika dapat berjalan efektif dan menarik siswa untuk aktif pada saat pembelajaran berlangsung.
Sumber belajar merupakan komponen penting dalam pembelajaran matematika sebab membantu kelancaran belajar siswa terutama untuk siswa yang memiliki hambatan dalam belajar matematika. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan sumber belajar matematika untuk siswa diskalkulia. Artikel ini merupakan artikel dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan subjek penelitian adalah guru, kepala sekolah dan pengawas sekolah dasar di Kabupaten Kudus dengan jumlah empat puluh delapan orang yang dipilih seara acak. Data penelitian diperoleh dari pengisian angket kebutuhan sumber belajar matematika. Hasil analisis angket kebutuhan tersebut menunjukkan perlunya pengembangan sumber belajar khusus untuk siswa diskalkulia yang dikaitkan dengan kearifan lokal Kudus. Modul memudahkan siswa diskalkulia dalam mempelajari konten matematika yang sifatnya abstrak
