Mangrove ecosystems can sequester and store carbon dioxide from the air the largest compared to other ecosystems so that mangroves have an important role in global warming mitigation. This study aims to estimate the amount of carbon stored in mangrove stands in Mendalok Village, Mempawah Regency. This study uses a survey method with a non-destructive sampling approach and uses allometric equations. Measurements were made on trees having DBH 5cm in plots measuring 20x20m for trees and 5x5m for saplings. The results showed that the total stand density was 2373.35 ind/ha, the above-ground biomass value was 310.80 tons/ha and the carbon stored above the surface was 146.03 tons/ha.Keywords: above ground biomass, carbon, mangrove AbstrakEkosistem mangrove memiliki kemampuan dalam menyerap dan menyimpan karbon dioksida dari udara terbesar dibanding dengan ekosistem lainnya sehingga mangrove memiliki peranan penting dalam upaya mitigasi pemanasan global. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengestimasi besarnya nilai karbon tersimpan pada tegakan mangrove di Desa Mendalok Kabupaten Mempawah. Pengukuran dilakukan pada pohon yang memiliki DBH ≥5cm didalam plot berukuran 20x20m untuk pohon dan 5x5m untuk pancang. The increasing content of carbon dioxide (CO2) and the reduction in forest area as a CO2 absorber in the atmosphere are the causes of global warming. One solution to reduce the CO2 content in the atmosphere is through the development or improvement of forest vegetation. Mangrove forests are considered to be able to absorb carbon quite well through the process of photosynthesis. The purpose of this study was to estimate standing carbon storage in mangroves in Sentebang Village, Jawai District, Sambas Regency. This research was conducted using a survey method with a non-destructive sampling approach. Data collection was done by making 55 observation plots. The tree observation plots were made measuring 10 m x 10 m with a distance between plots on a 30 m line. Each plot was measured with a tree diameter of 5 cm. From the results of the study, it was found that one type of mangrove with a diameter of 5 cm was Avicennia marina. From the results of the study, the above ground biomass was 293,31 ton/ha and root biomass was 177,87 tons/ha. As well as the estimated above-ground carbon of 137,56 ton/ha and root carbon of 83,60 ton/ha. Setiap petak dilakukan pengukuran diameter pohon ≥ 5 cm. Hasil penelitian ditemukan satu jenis mangrove yang memiliki diameter ≥ 5 cm yaitu Avicennia marina. Hasil penelitian diperoleh biomassa di atas permukaan tanah sebesar 293,31 ton/ha dan biomassa akar sebesar 177,87 ton/ha. Serta estimasi karbon di atas permukaan tanah sebesar 137,56 ton/ha dan karbon akar sebesar 83,60 ton/ha. Mangrove forests, often referred to as mangrove forests, brackish forests or tidal forests, is a transitional ecosystem between land and sea which are tropical or sub-tropical areas along the sheltered coast and river mouth. Mangrove forest is a coastal plant community dominated by several species of mangrove trees that are able to grow and develop during the tides in accordance with their tolerance to salinity, duration of inundation, substrate and beach morphology. Awan Kiri Mangrove Forest has a total area of 114 hectares including the area of Other Management Areas (APL) then seen from the density of the Mangrove Forest only has 92 hectares. This study uses a non-destructive survey method. Vegetation carbon stock calculation is carried out using vegetation biomass calculation approach. Vegetation biomass calculation based on the calculation of allometric equations. Calculation the value of stored carbon using the formula according to (SNI 7724:2011) the value of parent carbon content,amounting to 0,47. Bassed on the research that has been done, it is found that there are 185 individuals, Rhizophora spp., Bruguiera gymnorhiza, Rhizpphora apiculata, Xylocarpus gerantum and Excoecaria agallocha. The biomassa content can be known in the 3 pathways to store 242,16 tons biomassa and the total biomassa content in 1210,8 tons/ha with an everage of 403,6 tons/ha. The carbon content is 569,06 tons/ha so that it gets an average total of 186,68 tons C/ha.Keywords: Carbon Stock, Ketapang Regency, Sungai Awan Kiri in Mangrove Forests.
Mangroves are one of the blue carbon parameters, because of their role in utilizing CO2 for photosynthesis and storing it in the form of biomass and in sediments. Mempawah Mangrove Park has the potential as a CO2 gas absorber in an effort to reduce the impact of global warming, but the carbon stock in the MMP area is still very low. The purpose of this study is to develop a strategy for developing conservation and nursery management in order to increase carbon stocks in Mempawah Mangrove Park, Mempawah Regency. SWOT analysis was used in this study. The results showed that there were 8 internal factors, 3 strengths and 5 weaknesses, and on external factors there were 5 opportunities and 4 challenges. So that the IFAS and EFAS calculations are in quadrant III with an IFAS value of -0.52 and an EFAS value of 0.81, and the strategy that will be used is the WO strategy, which is to take advantage of existing opportunities and minimize weaknesses with building a mangrove seedbed area. permanently, establishing cooperation with the Mempawah FMU to provide special training for nursery and conservation activities, increasing collaboration with the Mempawah Tourism Office to repair MMP facilities and infrastructure that were damaged during the Covid-19 pandemic, and taking advantage of opportunities from communities who care about the existence of forests. mangroves for the successful collaboration with BPDAS to plant 70,000 mangrove seedlings.Keywords: carbon, conservation, mempawah mangrove park, nursery, SWOT Abstrak Mangrove merupakan salah satu parameter blue carbon, karena perannya dalam memanfaatkan CO2 untuk fotosintesis dan menyimpannya dalam bentuk biomassa dan di dalam sedimen. Mempawah Mangrove Park (MMP) memiliki potensi sebagai penyerap gas CO2 sebagai upaya untuk mengurangi dampak pemanasan global, namun stok cadangan karbon yang ada di kawasan MMP ini masih sangat rendah. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu menyusun strategi pengembangan pengelolaan konservasi dan pembibitan dalam rangka meningkatkan cadanga karbon di MMP, Kabupaten Mempawah. Analisis SWOT digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukan terdapat 8 faktor internal yaitu 3 kekuatan dan 5 kelemahan, dan pada faktor eksternal terdapat 5 peluang dan 4 tantangan. Sehingga pada perhitungan IFAS dan EFAS berada pada kuadran III dengan nilai IFAS sebesar-0,52 dan nilai EFAS sebesar 0,81, dan startegi yang akan digunakan adalah strategi WO yaitu memanfaatkan peluang yang ada dan meminimalkan kelemahan yang dimiliki dengan membangun area persemaian bibit mangrove yang permanen, membangun kerjasama dengan Pihak KPH Mempawah untuk memberikan pelatihan khusus kegiatan pembibitan dan konservasi, meningkatkan kerjasama dengan Dinas Pariwisata Mempawah untuk melakukan perbaikan sarana dan prasarana MMP yang rusak selama masa pandemi Covid-19, dan memanfaatkan peluang dari masyarakat yang peduli terhadap keberadaan hutan mangrove untuk menyukseskan kerjasama dengan pihak BPDAS untuk menanam 70.000 bibit mangrove.Kata kunci: karbon, konservasi, mempawah mangrove park, pembibitan, SWOT
