Abstract:The purpose of this study is to assess healthcare professionals' physical activity habits and their confidence to prescribe for chronic (non-communicable) diseases in hospital setting through a cross-sectional survey design. Seven sample hospitals were selected randomly based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria from 12 hospitals. The sample size was determined by using the formula for estimating a single population proportion. The mean score of the participants' confidence was (N = 369, M= 21.7 ± 6.36), indicates that above half of healthcare professionals were had moderate confidence to counsel/prescribe physical activity. The majority of (73.7%) of healthcare professionals reported doing moderate level of physical activity, only 2.8% of participants in the study were categorized as vigorous and 23.5% of the respondents were categorized as low physical activity level. Personal physical activity levels was significantly and positively correlated with confidence of HCPs to prescribe/counsel PA (r s =.266, p =.00). Hence, the more physically active the participants, they were had a greater confidence to prescribe/counsel about physical activity for their patients.
Examining the association between participation in physical activities and academic achievement is important for many reasons. Understanding the relationship between participation in sport activities, academic achievement and cognitive development is very important for teachers, school psychologists and other stakeholders. The relationship among physical activity, academic achievement and mental health has long been theorized to be of profound importance in understanding human behavior and development. This review article aims specifically to highlight the state of existing research pertaining to the relationship between physical activity and the state of mental health. Different studies, summarized here, have found that healthy levels of physical activity generally correlate with mental health and academic achievement. This review result has showed that there was a significant relationship between physical fitness level and academic achievement and higher academic achievement was associated with higher levels of physical fitness. Increased physical activity levels and fitness can improve bone and musculoskeletal function and help alleviate or relieve depression, anxiety and stress. Generally, the previous research findings from large-scale observational studies indicate that participation in physical activity has a small to moderate effect in prevention and management of the risk of depression and anxiety which in turn have effect on academic achievement and mental health. Physical activity is a relatively cheap and non-harmful lifestyle intervention that can easily be implemented into school settings.

Results: The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many people around the world to stay at home and self-isolate for a long period of time. These leads to psychological outcomes such as depression, post-traumatic stress symptoms, panic, confusion, anger, fear, and substance misuse and develops Sedentary Death Syndrome and reduce individuals' functional ability. Conclusion: Increased physical activity levels and fitness help alleviate or relieve Covid-19 associated health problems such as depression, anxiety and stress (mental health) and at this time if an individual follows a physically active lifestyle or participate regularly in home based physical activity, it has been found to be an effective way of improving fitness and overall health of individual. The effect of regular home based exercise training has a significant positive effect on overall health of individuals. Mental and physical well-being are negatively affected by sedentary habits and positively affected by active lifestyle.
