Abstract:In the new era of the Covid-19 pandemic, all students are required to do online or online lecture activities. Information and communication technology is urgently needed to support learning in the new era during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study aims to produce a learning media design in the form of e-learning media based on practical video tutorials for Photography / TV / Film Make-up subject on character make-up material. This type of research is development research using the IDI (Instructional Development Institute) model. This study examines whether the designed video tutorial-based e-learning medium is practical, then tests are performed on users, that is, teachers and students. The aspects that were tested in the teachers were to see aspects of access to e-learning, material aspects, presentation aspects, aspects of e-learning media based on video tutorials. The results showed that the e-learning medium based on tutorial videos by the teachers was practical, while for the students, seeing the interest of the students, the process of its use, increased the activity of the students and the time of students in the studio of the Department of Photography / TV / Film and Makeup Courses of Characters of Makeup and Beauty, FPP UNP using e-learning media based on video tutorials. The results of practicality by students are practical. Based on the above data, it can be concluded that e-learning media based on video tutorials are practical and can be used in learning in the Department of Makeup and Beauty, FPP UNP and can be developed and used in different subjects. Keywords: e-learning, Learning media, practical video tutorials.
The condition of COVID-19 has changed the living order of all units. The government and the entire community concentrate on the importance of public safety, with the consequence that funds from different units are allocated to COVID-19 disaster management, including the allocation of educational funds. Procurement for SMK education facilities and infrastructure, previously restricted by training facilities, such as a motorcycle auto-study program (TOSM) of SMKN 1 XI Koto Tarusan-Pesisir Selatan, has been affected by changes in funding from the Ministry of Education and Culture. The absence of learning media and the small number of active teachers from TOSM means that the capacity of TOSM students to fulfill the minimum industry requirements, which is shown by only 16% of SMKN 1 XI Koto Tarusan graduates who can be accepted immediately into the world of work. In a workshop on the design of a motorcycle starter device simulator to solve the problem of incomplete learning media, the implementation team helped develop learning media. This activity took place at SMKN 1 XI Koto Tarusan Pesisir Selatan from 25 to 28 September 2020. There were 10 teachers involved in the course. The production for this operation is 2 motorcycle starter system simulators, which can be used in the teaching and learning process as learning media.
This study discusses efforts to improve the implementation of remote learning that is not optimal through the development of Virtual Learning using the Problem-Based Learning Model for vocational education students in the learning process of Electrical Lighting Installation at Vocational High School (SMKN) 2 Lubuk Basung, Sumatera Barat Province. The emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic demands a rapid change in the implementation of learning from face-to-face learning in the classroom to remote learning. This change requires innovations in implementing learning such as media and learning models to ensure optimal learning implementation even though it is carried out remotely. The 4-D development model (Four-D) is applied in this study as a research product development model consisting of 4 stages: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The instrument used for data collection in the study is a questionnaire for the validity and practicality assessment instrument. The results showed that the virtual learning developed using the Problem-Based Learning Model was valid to be applied in the learning process. After being tested in the learning process, the Virtual Learning developed has been practically used in the learning process to optimize the implementation of learning and improve student learning outcomes. It can be concluded that the Virtual Learning developed with the Problem-Based Learning Model is valid and practical to use in the learning process to optimize the implementation of electric lighting installation learning for vocational education students.
