Encryption algorithm plays a crucial role in information security which guarantees the recent growing internet and network applications. They are used to secure the data in wireless networks against malicious attacks but securing data also consumes resources such as C.P.U time, Memory, battery power, encryption time etc. In this paper, we evaluated the performance of four symmetric key encryption algorithms; AES, DES, 3DES and Blowfish which commonly used for data encryption in terms of encryption time, decryption time & throughput. In this research, we evaluated encryption time, decryption time and throughput for all four encryption algorithms in Visual Basic's environment using large size text data (.doc). Experimental results show that Blowfish encryption algorithm may be more suitable for wireless networks. Study reveals that Blowfish gives better performance than AES, DES and 3DES in terms of encryption time, decryption time & throughput.
Zigbee is basically a self organizing digital radio network. It is based on IEEE 802.15.4 standard used for Wireless Sensor Network. This research work is related to CSMA/CA slotted and unslotted mode on IEEE 802.15.4 based wireless sensor network using three routing schemes. The simulation model is done by using OPNET 14.5. Performances metrics like throughput, data traffic sent and received, packet dropped in the network are determined and analyzed. The results show that the star topology in beacon enable mode give better result than the non beacon mode and overall performance is superior then other topologies.
This research work is implemented in ZigBee using IEEE 802.15.4 protocol stack, it is most widely used technique in wireless sensor network for low rate wireless personal area network. In this paper three topologies are used i.e. mesh, tree and hybrid topology. The hybrid topology is implemented by using the combination of mesh and tree topology. The data-based setup is done by changing mobile percentage of nodes. The performance of these topologies is measured using parameters throughput, MAC delay, DTR and DTS. The results quantify that hybrid topology is best among other two topologies as it provides high throughput ,high DTR and DTS. The simulation is done by OPNET modeler 14.5.
MANETs represent complex distributed systems which are comprised of free moving mobile nodes which use dynamic topology and are infrastructure less networks. The prime aim of this paper is to present the complete study on the performance and behavior of reactive, proactive and hybrid approach in MANETs. To evaluate the performance of these protocols different scenarios with varying nodes have been simulated using the NS-2 simulation tool. There are some performance metrics which are used to describe the performance of these given routing protocols .e.g. number of packets sent, number of packets received, number of packets dropped, Normalized routing Load, Network Overload etc.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
