Butterflies are one type of insect found in the green open space of Pontianak City. Butterflies can be used as bioindicators of environmental changes because butterflies are very sensitive to biotic and abiotic factors (Rizal, 2007). This study aims to obtain data and analyze the diversity of butterfly species in the green open space of Pontianak City. The study used a field observation method with sweeping net techniques and explored areas in three habitats namely Sylva Untan Arboretum, Untan S1 Forestry Campus and West Kalimantan Governor's Hall Pavilion. The three green open spaces were chosen based on the density and diversity of the vegetation. The results of the study found 22 types of butterflies. The same six types are found in three different types of open green space, namely Leptosia nina, Agamemnon Graphium, Papilio polytes, Hipolimnas bolina, Eurema hecabe, and Appias lybithea. The species diversity index at the Arboretum has a value of 2.74, Campus S1 Forestry Untan with a value of 2.19 and Pendopo Park with a value of 2.02. This value indicates that species diversity in green open space is classified as medium.Keywords: butterfly diversity, green open space, bioindicator
Mangrove forests are unique ecosystems that have ecological, biological and socio-economic functions. The function of mangrove forests on the environment is very important especially in the coastal and oceanic regions. Mangrove forests providers of wood, leaves as raw material for medicines, and natural dye. This study aims to inventory the diversity of species of mangrove vegetation in Mendalok Village, Sungai Kunyit Subdistrict, Mempawah Regency. The benefits of this study are to provide the data on mangrove forest vegetation as basic data for local government and related agencies in efforts to protect and preserve mangrove forests in Mendalok Village, Sungai Kunyit Subdistrict, Mempawah Regency. Inventory the tree in mangrove forest used a line with measured 200 meters. There are 6 lines and the distance between the lines as far as 100 meters. The lines of observation are placed by purposive sampling. The results of research found 11 types of species and consisted of 6 genera. The genera are Avicennia, Bruguiera, Ceriops, Rhizophora, Soneratia and Xylocarpus. The species found were Avicennia alba, Avicennia marina, Bruguiera cylindrica, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, Bruguiera parviflora, Ceriops decandra, Rhizophora apiculata, Rhizophora mucronata, Rhizophora stylosa, Sonneratia caseolaris, Xylocarpus mollucensis. Diversity of mangrove species in Mendalok Village, Sungai Kunyit Subdistrict, Mempawah Regency was high and should be maintained for conservation and ecotourism area. This study aims to determine utilization of non-timber forest products from villages in the forest area, namely Buluk Jegara Village, Kayan Hilir District, Sintang District. The research method used was interviews with communities in Buluk Jegara Village and surveys in the Buluk Jegara village forest area. The number of respondents is 75 people. The results of research on non-timber forest products in Buluk Jegara Village showed that there were 20 types of non-timber forest products utilized by the people of Buluk Jegara Village. Types of non-timber forest products utilized by the people of Buluk Jegara Village includePerupuk (Pandanus tectorius), Senggang (Hornstedtia alliacea), Wi Segak (Calamus caesius blume), Damar(Shorea hopea), Bambu/Buluh(Dendrocalamus asper backer), Bedegak (Dicranopteris linearis), Rian (Durio zibetthinu), Engkabang (Shorea macrophylla), Purun (Lepironia articulata), Sagu (Metroxylon sagu), Nau (Arenga pinnata), Kandis (Garcinia celebica), Kemantan (Mangifera foetida), Mawang (Mangifera pajang), Bekeruk (Polypodium verrucosum), Bungkang (Syzygium polyanthum), Lemidau (Gnetum Gnemon L.), Miding (Stenochlena polustris), Lensat (Lansium domesticum), and Lengkus (Dimocarpus longan L.). Mentabah sub-district is one of the territories in Kapuas Hulu, the province of West Borneo. The width is about 781,26 km² with enormous potential for biodiversity. One of them is Jajau forest. The local people called it Jajau Forest that also known as Kerangas forest. The purpose of this research is to collect data about the diversity of Diurnal species in Jajau Forest in Mentabah sub-district, Kapuas Hulu, the province of West borneo. IPA ((Index Point Abundance) is used in this research that placed purposively. The result of this research shows that there are 111 birds species could be indetified with 938 birds include 39 families. This research showh that the variety of birds in this are is so high, it is 4.4221.Keywords: diversity of birds, Jajau Forest, Mentebah District
Dayak Mayan is the only tribe in Mensusai Village, Suhaid District, Kapuas Hulu Regency. They utilize natural products in the form of animals or animals for daily needs such as consumption needs (protein), for traditional rituals, medication, mystical and commercial activities. Animals are used for medecine based on experience and tradition for generations. The research objective was to obtain data of animals species that used as medicine and to obtain data on the processing and usage of animals as medicine by the Dayak Mayan in Mensusai Village, Suhaid District, Kapuas Hulu Regency. The method used are survey method, respondents was selected by snowball sampling techniques and data collection using a questionnaire. Based on result research that there are 14 types of animals that are believed by the Dayak Mayan Community and are commonly used or used as medicine. Animal body parts that are used for treatment are thorns, flesh, bile, fur, blood, scales, fat, honey and skin.
