The purpose of this study is to compare the impacts of flashcard and board games on the learning motivation, flow experience, and learning outcomes of learners of Chinese language. The subjects of this research were 34 learners who took beginner Chinese courses. Empirical research found out that both flashcard and board games have positively significant effects on learners’ learning motivation, flow experience and learning outcomes. In which, learners in the board game group have significantly higher learning outcomes than those in the flashcards group. However, the learning motivation and flow experience of the flashcard group are significantly higher than that of the educational board game group.
This study was based on the vicarious learning theory, and the teaching model included learning, practice, self-assessment, and peer-assessment. The authors conducted the study in a spiral manner. There are three research questions in this study: 1) Can learners' achievement be elevated by news video production teaching model? 2) Can learners' oral presentation be elevated by the news video production teaching model? 3) Will the learning outcomes be affected by self-assessment and peer-assessment? The teaching period was 18 weeks, and the study objects were six foreign learners from the current Chinese course in one university. The study results revealed 1) the whole semester teaching model promoted students attaining learning outcomes, 2) the whole semester teaching model enhanced the learners' oral presentation abilities, 3) self-evaluation and peer-evaluation affected the learners' learning achievement. In future studies, the authors suggest caring for the learners' learning bottlenecks in any moment and infusing real material into Chinese teaching.
This study examines cross-functional knowledge sharing at the interface between marketing and accounting departments within business organizations. It develops a coopetition model to examine the effects of contingent variables including cross-functional competition and organizational innovativeness on the coordination–sharing–performance (C–S–P) link. The results obtained from a survey of 178 large firms in Vietnam demonstrate that except formalization all coordination mechanisms including lateral relations, informal networking, and shared visions have positive influences on the knowledge sharing at the interface between marketing and accounting departments. Moreover, competition between these moderates the effects of both lateral relations and informal networking on the extent of knowledge sharing between the marketing and accounting departments (MAKS). Finally, this study finds that organizational innovativeness partially mediates the MAKS–performance link, emphasizing the role of innovation in transforming knowledge to performance.
