This study examines the Türkiye-European Union relations of the Zafer Party, which was recently established in Türkiye and has been on the agenda with its discourses. The study consists of three chapters. In the first chapter, the definition of the Radical Right Party is made conceptually, and its general discourses are put forward. In the second chapter, the Radical Right Parties in Europe are examined and their discourses about the European Union are discussed. In the third chapter, the Zafer Party’s view of the European Union and Türkiye-EU relations is examined. In this study, the program of the Zafer Party, its manifesto and the Ümit Özdağ’s discourses were examined. In the Zafer Party, both the discourses of Chairman Ümit Özdağ and the discourses of other party members were examined and an evaluation was made with the claim that the Zafer Party was the first example of the Radical Right Parties in Europe in Türkiye. Both the discourses of Ümit Özdağ and the discourses of other party members were examined and an evaluation was made with the claim that the Zafer Party is the first example of the Radical Right Parties in Europe in Türkiye.
The Democratic Peace Theory covers empirical findings and most theoretical implications for which democracies will hardly ever fight each other. Democratic Peace Theory, which entered the International Relations Discipline in the 1980s, argues that democracies will not fight each other and that, historically, except for exceptions, peace between democratic states is guaranteed. Democratic Peace Theory indicates that economic development is also effective in ensuring and developing peace and democracy, and in later studies, it is indicated that states will avoid war because they are economically interdependent. This study will examine the establishment process of the European Union, the reasons for its establishment and its existence today within the framework of the Democratic Peace Theory. Considering the establishment process and development of the European Union, this study will try to conclude that the democratic European states came together because they both came together with common norms and gained more economic gain than they would gain by fighting, by solving the problems between them.
This study examines Turkey-EU Relations after the coup attempt in Turkey on July 15, 2016. The study was conducted using one of the decision-making models, the Random Walk Model. The study claims that the rhetoric of EU and Turkish decision-makers against each other after the July 15 coup attempt was made by zigzagging like a drunk walking on the pavement. Good rhetoric by EU decision-makers to Turkey will be shown by stepping to the right, and bad rhetoric will be shown by stepping to the left. The steps taken to the right will be evaluated as A, and the steps to the left will be evaluated as B. Then, inference will be made on how the relations will continue and how the relations will be evaluated. It will be explained that it draws zags. Undoubtedly, every event may not be of equal value in social sciences. Giving equal values here is to show that the causes and consequences of the events cannot be determined beforehand and that there may be different unpredictable results.
The phenomenon of migration also existed concurrently with the existence of human history. It is known that immigrants lead to many changes in the countries they migrate to. With the beginning of migration movements, changes are experienced in economic, political, social, cultural, and other areas. The European Union has become a target point of migration movements due to its good living standards and sensitivity to democracy, the rule of law, and human rights. Most migrants making their way to the European Union apply for asylum. The European Union is experiencing great difficulties due to the recent mass migration movements. Mass migration flows into the European Union have led to a test of the Union's values. The European Union has started to implement security-oriented policies to cope with mass migrations. Its policies on migration and asylum have also led to the development of human rights problems. In this study, the objective is to examine the asylum and migration policies of political groups within the European Parliament. The views of these groups in the context of asylum and migration policies will be examined, and their similarities and differences will be reviewed.
