This paper aims to measure agricultural efficiency levels of OECD countries using Dynamic Data Envelopment Analysis (DDEA) over the 1966-2007 period. The DDEA pays attention to intertemporal input output dependency and allows the modeling of inter-temporal behaviors of the economic decision-making units for a given period. The findings of this study show that the most efficient countries in the agricultural sector are Italy, Belgium-Luxemburg, Holland and New Zealand. It is also seen that the main source of inefficiency in the agricultural sector is dynamic inefficiency for 25 of the 29 OECD countries over the study period. Dynamic inefficiency indicates that the countries are unsuccessful in their inter-temporal decision-making processes or that quasifixed inputs are not used in their optimal levels.
This paper aims to evaluate the performance of foreign affiliated and domestic firms in Turkish manufacturing subsectors covering the period 1992 and 2001. Due to the heterogeneity between domestic and foreign affiliated firms in terms of technology level, we construct a meta-frontier model to measure relative efficiency and technology gap ratios (TGR's) of domestic and foreign affiliated firms. We find that technical efficiencies of foreign affiliated firms are higher than domestic firms, and display a stable pattern during the investigation period. However; technology gap ratios indicate the existence of a negative relationship between the TGR's and technical efficiency of the firms in domestic subsectors. This means that technically efficient firms are in fact using the low level of technology. However the results do not indicate any significant relationship between the technical efficiency and TGR's of foreign affiliated firms.

The crime economy has lately become a popular field of research because of regular increases in crime rates. Economists’ interest in crime analysis goes back to Becker’s (1968) model. “Cost‑benefit” analysis determined the crime preferences of rational individuals in this model. According to this analysis, if the benefit from the crime is higher than the cost to be faced, the individual will be willing to commit the crime. One of the factors studied in the crime phenomenon is migration. The main reason for migration is unemployment and poverty. The main purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between youth unemployment and crime rates by migration-receiving regions. By this purpose, aggregated crime rates, as well as non-aggregated crime rates (property crime, theft, and violent crime), were used. Also, the youth unemployment rate has been subdivided by gender differences and educational levels. We prefer to use spatial econometrics models in this study because of the unemployment rate, and crime rate showing the regional cluster pattern. Migration-receiving is considered as regions neighboring.
