Mangifera laurina termasuk salah satu mangga liar di Sumatra yang memiliki kandungan antioksidan, fenol dan flavonoid yang tinggi. Tanaman Ruellia tuberosa L dan Leucobryum sp. diketahui memiliki sifat antibakteri. Perpaduan tiga tumbuhan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi solusi dalam mengobati luka pada penderita diabetes menggantikan antibiotik, karena penggunaan antibiotik yang tidak tepat dapat menyebabkan bakteri menjadi resisten. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menguji aktivitas ekstrak metanol kombinasi tiga jenis tanaman (Mangifera laurina, Ruellia tuberosa L dan Leucobryum sp) terhadap Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538 dan S. epidermidis ATCC 12228. Metode ekstraksi yang digunakan adalah maserasi dengan metanol 70%. Pengujian aktivitas antibakteri menggunakan konsentrasi ekstrak sebesar 10% dengan metode kertas cakram pada medium Mueller Hinton Agar (MHA), diinkubasi pada suhu 37°C selama 24 jam. Kontrol positif yang digunakan adalah antibiotik kloramfenikol 30µg/disc dan DMSO 10% sebagai kontrol negatif. Hasil zona hambat yang terbentuk dibandingkan dengan Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI). Hasil uji kombinasi ekstrak M. laurina, R. tuberosa L dan Leucobryum sp. terhadap S. aureus ATCC 6538 diperoleh kisaran zona hambat 7,55±0,35-10,05±0,54 mm. Zona hambat terbesar pada perlakuan P2 (perbandingan 3:2:3) dan zona hambat terkecil pada perlakuan P5 (perbandingan 2:1:3). Zona hambat yang terbentuk terhadap S. epidermidis ATCC 12226 berkisar 7,88±0,11-8,28±0,81 mm. Zona hambat terbesar pada perlakuan P6 (perbandingan 1:3:2) dan yang terkecil perlakuan P5 (perbandingan 2:1:3). Pada perlakuan P1-P4 tidak terbentuk zona hambat. Berdasarkan CLSI, zona hambat yang terbentuk ≤ 12 mm termasuk kategori resisten. Zona hambat kloramfenikol terhadap S. aureus termasuk kategori sensitif, akan tetapi terhadap S. epidermidis termasuk kategori resisten. Kombinasi ekstrak metanol Mangga liar M. laurina, R. tuberosa dan Leucobryum sp. berpeluang sebagai kandidat antibiotik.
Cendawan merupakan organisme yang mengganggu pertumbuhan tanaman seperti Jeruk kasturi, kedelai,gandum, dan tomat. Tujuan penelitain ini adalah untuk memeriksa potensi cendawan patogen yang dapat merusak tanaman budidaya seperti jeruk kasturi, gandum, kedelai dan tomat karena semua tanaman yang telah terinfeksi penyakit tidak akan bisa melakukan aktivitas fisiologi secara sempurna, sehingga tanaman tersebut akan mengalami penurunan kualitas dan kuantitas produksi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif eksploratif dengan melakukan identifikasi cendawan pada daun jeruk kasturi, biji kedelai, daun gandum dan daun tomat dengan metode identifikasi makroskopis dan mikroskopis serta blotter test. Cendawan pada daun jeruk kasturi diidentifikasi sebagai Colletrotichum sp. dan Nigrospora sp. (non OPTK), sedangkan pada gandum yaitu Tilletia Indica (OPTK kategori A1), dan padatanaman tomat yaitu Fusarium oxysporium dan Curvularia lunata (OPTK). Pada biji kedelai diperolehPeronospora manshurica, Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavusdan Penicillium chrysogenum. This research is an exploratory descriptive study by identifying the fungus on kaffir lime leaves, soybean seeds, wheat leaves and tomato leaves with macroscopic and microscopic identification methods and blotter test. The fungus on kaffir lime leaves was identified as Colletrotichum sp. and Nigrospora sp. (non-OPTK), while in wheat, namely Tilletia Indica (OPTK category A1), and in tomato plants, namely Fusarium oxysporium and Curvularia lunata (OPTK). In soybean seeds obtained Peronospora manshurica, Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus and Penicillium chrysogenum. Plants are the main medicinal source that exists around the world, due to the content of bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, polyphenols, tannins, terpenoids, and essential oils. These bioactive compounds have antimicrobial activity. The purpose of this study was to analyze the antibacterial activity of a combination extracts of Sumatran wild mango (M. sumatrana, and M. foetida var. Batu), R. tuberosa L. and Leucobryum sp. against bacteria that cause gangrene wounds in diabetics. Preparation of plant extraction is carried out by the method of maceration using 70% alcohol. Testing of antibacterial activity using the disc paper method 6 mm in diameter at an extract concentration of 10% with seven treatments (P1-P7). The test results obtained the largest inhibitory zone diameter against Staphyococcus aureus ATCC 6538 and S. epidermidis ATCC 12228 both shown in combination II extracts at P7 treatment (2:3:1 ratio), 9.04±1.42 mm and 8.85±0.21 mm, respectively. The results of the inhibitory zone resulting from the combination extract test included criteria of resistance to Staphylococcus. In the positive control, the diameter of the chloramphenicol inhibition zone against S. aureus belongs to the sensitive category, but to S. epidermidis it belongs to the resistant category. Combination of methanol extract from wild mango, R. tuberosa L and Leucobryum sp. has the opportunity as the candidate for natural-based antibiotics to replace synthetic antibiotics.
Pasar Angso Duo merupakan pasar tradisional terbesar di kota Jambi, dengan luas wilayah adalah ± 5 Ha. Jumlah sampah yang dihasilkan pasar Angso Duo setiap harinya sekitar ± 105 ton per haridengan perbandingan 70% sampah mudah terurai, 25%daur ulang (organik dan kertas) dan 5% sampah lainya. Dari 75% sampah teruraitersebut sekitar 60% merupakan sampah berupa sayur yang sebagian besar sayursawi-sawian dan kubis. Limbah sayur ini memiliki potensi besar untuk dimanfaatkan menjadi pupuk organik karena memiliki kandungan unsur hara yang baik dan kompleks seperti protein, lemak karbohidrat, kalsium, fosfor, besi, vitamin A, B dan C, asam folat, serat, air dan Natrium.Kelebihan pupuk organik cair yaitu mengandung cukup nitrogen sebagai bahan penyusun protein dan klorofil tumbuhan.Hasil Penelitian didapatkan 6 jenis bakteri yaitu Planococcus, Neisseria, Halobacter, Azomonas, Azotobacter dan Bruccella yang diformulasi menjadi pupuk cair dengan substrat dasar limbah sayur kubis dan sawi.Kemudian diuji kemampuan bakteri dalam melarut nitrogen, fosfor dan kalsium sebagi bakteri potensial sebagai pupuk cair.
The World Health Organization has designated Covid-19 as a pandemic that causes activities outside the home to be restricted. In order to maintain health during the pandemic, many people are starting to choose foodstuffs produced from organic farming. The purpose of this activity is to provide information and motivation to society for reuse household waste with appropriate technology to produce compost. This service activity was carried out in Air Dingin Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru. The initial stage conveys material about the importance of maintaining health during the pandemic by consuming organic vegetables and fruits grown in their respective yards. Furthermore, the practice of making compost using the direct-use compost method and composting in a composter pot. Composting that reuses household waste has succeeded in opening up insight into the importance of the community's role in personal and environmental health and the public's understanding that a healthy life doesn't have to be expensive. In this activity, the participants showed their enthusiasm and stated that they would practice and share their knowledge with others in making compost to overcome the problem of household waste. This activity is also beneficial to keep the environment clean, healthy and beautiful.
