The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors of learning habits and gender on the mathematics learning achievement of students using multiple linear regression approaches. This type of research is quantitative with an approach ex post facto. The population used in SMP Negeri 1 Merauke students, class X and XI with a population of 625 students consisting of 322 male students and 303 students. The sample used by the propositional stratified Random Sampling technique was obtained ie 150 samples. The analysis used uses a significance level of 5%. The results obtained are: (1) there is a significant effect of learning habits and student mathematics learning achievements; (2) there is no significant effect of gender on student mathematics learning achievement; (3) there is no simultaneous influence of learning habits and gender on students’ mathematics learning achievement. The results of the analysis using multiple regression approaches indicate learning habits provide a positive and significant influence on learning achievement. Students who have good and regular study habits will see that the lessons received are not so difficult to understand, because of the good readiness beforehand. Whereas for gender there is no significant effect. This is because there has been gender equality applied in school. Equality of conditions for men and women to obtain opportunities and their rights as human beings, to be able to play a role and participate in activities at school. Thus it can be concluded that the factors that influence the mathematics achievement of junior high school students for Merauke City are learning habits. The better and regular student learning habits, the students’ mathematical achievements will increase.
The development of science and technology in various parts of the world is influenced by progress in the field of mathematics. Therefore, the countries that ignore mathematics education as a top priority will be left behind from other countries that provide a place for mathematics as an important subject. But there are many factors that cause students' mathematics learning achievement to be low. The purpose of this study is to model external factors and internal factors that affect the mathematics learning achievement of junior high school students in Merauke. The approach model used in this study is the structural equation model (SEM). The results obtained are (1) the external and internal factors each affect direct mathematics learning achievement, (2) internal factors are not influenced by external factors, and (3) obtained structural models that meet the criteria of fit, absolute comparability, fit and parsimony.
Climate is an important element for human life, one of them is to agriculture sector. Global climate change leads to increased frequency and extreme climatic intensity such as storms, floods, and droughts. Rainfall is climate factor that causes the failure of harvest in Merauke. Therefore, rainfall forecast information is very useful in anticipating the occurrence of extreme events that can lead to crop failure. The purpose of this research is to model rainfall using autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) model. The ARIMA model can be used to predict future events using a set of past data, including predicting rainfall. This research was conducted by collecting secondary data from Agency of Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG) from 2005 until 2017, then the data was analyzed using R.3.4.2. software. The analysis result showed that ARIMA model (2.0,2) as the right model to predict rainfall in Merauke. The result of forecasting based on ARIMA model (2.0,2) for one period ahead is 179 mm of average rainfall, 46 mm of minimum rainfall, and 295 mm of maximum rainfall. Thus it can be concluded that the intensity of rainfall in Merauke has decreased and there was a seasonal shift from the previous period.
