The mismatch between the skills offered by the vocational education institution and the needs of the industry leads to the high unemployment in Indonesian. It contradicts with the initial aim of the vocational education which is to decrease the number of the unemployment in Indonesia. One of the solutions to overcome the problem is by having partnership between vocational education institutions. Therefore, this paper aims to compare the model of partnership with industry in USA University and Indonesian universities. 20 respondents were involved in this study and thematic analysis was used to analyse the data. The results showed that main differences of the partnership model are: 1) in identifying the skill demands, USA universities focused on the feedback of the curriculum. While, the Indonesian universities analysed the skill of the graduates, 2) in supporting the development, Indonesian universities preferred a partner which could develop their infrastructure. While, the USA universities chose a partner which could build their capacity, 3) a company which could employ many workers in Indonesia. While, a company which could affect the image of the university is more preferable in USA.
The government's efforts to prevent the acceleration of the transmission of the Covid-19 virus have an impact on the world of education. The government imposes restrictions on activities, including in the world of education, namely the policy of implementing a distance learning system from elementary school to higher education. Distance learning that is applied especially in universities is an online learning system (in a network). In this research, the method used is the literature study method. Literature study is an activity to find references related to methods of reading, taking notes, collecting data, and processing research materials sourced from journals, journal reviews, books, articles and the internet. This literature study method has the final result, namely knowing the factors that affect the effectiveness of online lectures during the covid-19 pandemic. The results of this study are to find several factors that affect the effectiveness of online learning/lectures (on the network), which can be grouped as follows: (1) Educators include digital, creative, and innovative literacy; (2) Learners include motivation and independence; (3) Facilities and infrastructure; (4) The role of institutions.
The fundamental factor that must be considered to face the competitiveness and productivity of labour in the era of globalization is the quality of human resources. Education is an effort to improve the quality of human resources. Teacher competency is one of the factors that influence the quality of students' human resources. This research aims to know the professional competence of teachers vocational building engineering. The subject of this research is a teacher building engineering graduates study program engineering education UNNES building in SMK in Central Java. The method of collecting data in this study is a questionnaire and documentation. The data analysis technique used is descriptive quantitative. The results of the technical study on the development of professional competence teachers SMK that has spread in some Vocational Schools in Central Java this is the peresentase 85.41%, is the result of a percentage of the average on each indicator the professional competence of teachers. The result of the indicator of mastery of the material is of 83.92%, an indicator of the ability of open lessons of 86.27%, an indicator of the ability to ask of 83.78%, an indicator of the ability of holding material in any kind of variation of 89.63%, the indicator clarity and presentation of material of 82.87%, an indicator of the ability to manage a class of 86.56%, an indicator of the ability to shut the lessons of 86.77, and and the accuracy between time and subject matter was 83.47%.
