Intravitreal triamcinolone should be further evaluated as a treatment option for macular edema associated with BRVO.

Intravitreal triamcinolone may be effective in treating macular edema from CRVO and HRVO. Subjects with concurrent diabetes or ischemic central retinal vein were less likely to have visual improvement.

Bannayan-Zonana syndrome is an autosomal-dominant, hamartomatous disease characterized by a mutation spectrum that involves genes responsible for vascular development. Retinal vascular abnormalities and exudation can be a manifestation of this syndrome.
