Pandemic outbreaks of infectious diseases caused by the corona virus (COVID-19) has required the students to study from home at Universitas Negeri Medan, and the learning adaptation by using online learning become a choice. This study aims to develop innovative learning for the teaching of Automotive Industrial Management through the provision of learning resources that can be used by students during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research was conducted in second semester of 2019-2020 academic year. Research includes developing innovative learning resources, followed by standardization and implementation for blended learning. Learning innovation is carried out by providing innovative teaching materials supplemented with multimedia for the subject of Automotive Industrial Management, then packaged in softcopy. Standardization of teaching materials is done using expert lecturers. Implementation of learning is done with involvement of 61 students in two parallel classes. The results showed that a standard and innovative learning resources have been successfully developed according to the needs of achieving the competencies required by automotive engineering students. Lecturer respondents gave excellent assessment to the developed teaching materials. The implementation results showed that the learning resource has effectively been used students from home as a supplement to online teaching. The developed learning material motivate students to learn to achieve their competencies. Students' knowledge and skills have developed, where learning outcomes obtained from both, the portfolio of submitted assignment and evaluation score, are all very good. The learning innovations developed were very suitable for teaching students on Automotive Industrial Management during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Knowledge and skills in the field of research are key requirements for the successful completion of studies for students, including prospective teachers. However, the outbreak of the COVID-19 coronavirus has made it difficult for students to conduct research in the usual ways. This study aims to apply project-based learning through action research to teach students educational research methods and to help them prepare research plans that are adaptive to classroom situations. This is achieved through the provision of learning resources to teach research theory, followed by the implementation of action research to write research proposals and evaluations of learning outcomes. Learning resources were systematically arranged to support online learning to teach research methods, and effective action research led students to learn actively and develop educational research plans. Competence in the field of research was achieved. Student learning outcomes sequentially for assignment scores (M = 88.38 ± 3.00), final project scores (M = 88.20 ± 3.55), and posttest (M = 92.06 ± 2.17) were all high. Project-based learning is shown to be effective in guiding students to learn actively by utilizing available learning resources. It motivates students to learn independently and can be applied to achieve competency targets in both normal and abnormal learning situations, such as those experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The use of Theory of Constraints (ToC) is very necessary in overcoming problems in the production automation system in the industry. This research aims to overcome the rate of instant noodle production automatically in the factory. The study was conducted in a national company that produces instant noodles at Tanjung Morawa, North Sumatera, Indonesia. The experience of constraints of bottlenecks were observed at mixing station and cooking station caused by the different capacities between the work stations. This research uses the principle of continuous improvement. A linear programming method is used to optimize master production schedule (MPS) and determine the maximum throughput. The results showed that applying the theory of constraint in the flow rate can solve the problems in the production of instant noodle in the factory. The ToC eliminate the constraints on the bottleneck work stations so that the overall production flow can run effectively and efficiently. After optimal MPS results has been known, rough-cut capacity planning (RCCP) revisions are calculated and the results showed that the bottleneck work stations have become non-bottleneck work stations, and the maximum throughput has been achieved.
Preferensi konsumen dalam membeli ditentukan oleh banyak faktor. Dalam bisnis telekomunikasi di Indonesia banyak faktor yang menjadi pertimbangan konsumen dalam memilih produk telekomunikasi tersebut. Penelitian yang dilakukan di Kota Medan, Sumatera Utara, Indonesia menunjukan ada beberapa faktor yang menjadi pertimbangan konsumen. Faktor-faktor tersebut adalah merek, tarif, layanan, promosi, relasi serta distribusi. Keenam faktor tersebut diteliti juga bagaimana interaksi dan keterkaitan satu dengan yang lain terhadap preferensi konsumen dalam memilih operator terlekomunikasi. Interaksi antara variabel tersebut menggunakan model multi regresi liniar. Penelitian ini menggunakan sampel 331 responden dengan menggunakan Teori Gervitz untuk pengambilan data dan convenience sampling dalam penyebaran kuesioner. Penelitian ini menghasilkan kesimpulan jika nilai citra/promosi memiliki nilai pengaruh yang paling tinggi terhadap preferensi konsumen dalam memilih operator sedangkan distribusi merupakan nilai yang terbesar kedua. Nilai yang paling rendah adalah promosi dan nilai terendah kedua adalah jaringan. Interaksi antara keenam variabel memiliki hubungan yang berbeda. Interaksi positif ada antara merek dan promosi, merek dan jaringan sedangkan interaksi negatif ada pada varibel merek dan distribusi serta jaringan dan promosi.
Permasalahan sampah pasar tradisional akibat kegiatan jual beli dipasar memberikan dampak negatif terhadap lingkungan. Sampah pasar yang berupa sisa sayur-sayuran, buah-buahan, dan makanan lainnya adalah bahan yang mudah membusuk dan menghasilkan bau tidak sedap. Masalah ini juga yang dirasakan oleh masyarakat dan pedagang di Pasar Tradisional Setia Kongsi Kecamatan Medan Sunggal, Kota medan. Pemilahan sampah dari sayuran yang diterapkan melalui Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat di pasar ini berupa metode sayur petik yang dikemas menggunakan kotak plastik dan kantong plastik dengan berbagai ukuran. Selain mudah disimpan, sayuran yang dalam keadaan segar dan bersih akan mudah dimasak sehingga menghewat waktu dan tenaga dalam mengolah bahan makanan. Partisipasi aktif dari pedagang sayuran dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini diharapkan dapat mewujudkan pasar menjadi bersih dan tertata dengan baik. Metode ini juga merupakan salah satu cara mengurangi jumlah sampah dari pasar tradisional ke rumah tangga yang sekaligus dapat mengefisiensikan distribusi sampah dalam hal waktu, tenaga dan biaya.Kata Kunci :Sampah, Pasar Tradisional, Sayuran,dan Pemilahan
