Objective: To determine the effect of manufacturing technique of temporary imitative crown on the gingiva health. Material and Methods: The clinical experimental study was conducted on 10 samples for each the manufacturing technique of temporary imitative crowns. On sample we conduct clinical examination by using plaque and gingival indexes, as well as DHE and scaling at the beginning of the study. And then we count the number of bacterial colonies by using swab method on the cervical part of the provisory. Data were analyzed by chi-square test. Results: There was an effect between the manufacturing technique of temporary imitative crown with plaque and gingival indexes and there was a significant correlation between the manufacturing techniques of provisory on the gingiva health (p<0.05). Conclusion: There was an effect between the manufacturing techniques of the temporary imitative crown on the gingival health. The manufacturing technique of indirect-direct has minimum effect on the gingival health.
Objective: To examine the effect of aloe vera that containing bioactive materials on the levels of calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P) minerals and their ratios around the immediate implanted in alveolar bone. Material and Methods: Research method by conducting experimental test on experimental animals: 9 male mongrel dogs are divided into 3 groups each 3 tails. In each animal was pulled the second premolar teeth on right side and left side, and immediately inserted titanium implant (3mm x 10mm diameter) after the socket filled with 10% aloevera extract on the right side and control on the left side. Analysis of calcium and phosphorus minerals content formed by examination of Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) on Scanning Electron Microscope on implant and around bone tissue was done on days 14, 28 and 56. The result of statistical analysis using repeated ANOVA with independent t test. The level of significance was set at 5%. Results: There was a significant difference on calcium level between control and treatment groups on days 14, 28 and 56 (p<0.05). There was no significant difference on phosphorus level between control and treatment groups (p>0.05). The ratio of Ca / P in both control and treatment groups was also significantly different in every observation day (p<0.05). Conclusion: The addition of aloe vera extract that containing bioactive materials has an effect on increasing levels of mineral elements calcium and calciumphosphorus ratio after immediate implant insertion.
The aim of this literature review was to study the underlying mechanisms of the association between periodontal disease and prostate cancer. Methods: This study was literature review study, pubmed searching was used to find scientific article about association of periodontal disease and prostate cancer. Results: Direct correlation between periodontal disease and prostrate cancer is still unclear. It was hyphotesized that microorganisms involved in chronic periodontitis may directly induce mutations in the tumor-suppresor genes and proto-oncogenes or alter the signalling pathways that in turn stimulates cancer growth. Conclusion: Periodontal disease may associate to prostate cancer by mutation induction in tumor-suppresor genes.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
