Abstract. Bathing and playing in the river is not a new phenomenon for some people. But this experience creates a recreational spirit on the Tepusriver which is now better known as the Blue Lagoon. This area is a term for the settlement that is split a piece of the river in the dusun Ndalem Ngemplak Sleman. Its tributaries are clear and blue, surrounded by some springs with natural bamboo groves and old trees that invite local and around communities for recreation. The local community has anticipated it by responding to the communities' demands as well as the recreation area. Appear sporadically "warungs" and recreational activities follow-up though not yet grown in conceptual. This paper aims to study the map of affordance and activity of previous research findings and could be used to the biophilic design to afford the health, productivity, and wellbeing in the tourism area. The method is by synthesizing the previous research findings in 2016, some relevant urban design theories, and biophilic design principle. The conclusion is paid attention to two main principles. The first principle is maximizing the utilization of existing natural properties and the existing cultural skills into its development to nourish visitors both physically and psychologically. The second principle is the Government, and Non-Government Organizations (i.e., expertise, academics, universities, investors) support, both policy and financially, in many sectors: tourism, environment, and infrastructure.
The planned housing has been phenomenally developed in some big cities in Indonesia, included Yogyakarta. The housing has been built in various models as government's policy for getting equity in diversity and for reducing housing backlog in Indonesia. The housing policy that is relevant to the problem is Balanced Housing Development. This policy has been undergone adjustments in several decades which in principle aim to alleviate the Developers in implementing this policy. The policy began with the establishment of a balance of luxury quality housing development: moderate; simple = 1: 3: 6 to 1: 2: 3. The developers still had difficulty for implementing. The fact shows that the implementation of balanced residential based housing development in Yogyakarta was still very low, which is only 1,22%. By using the data research group of "Income Generation in The Planned Housing Development" funded by High Directorate Education National Department, and some actually relevant articles, this paper discusses of what is the problem of the low achievement of the balanced ratio. Some observers of housing development and housing developers have discussed a lot of the lack of achievement on the policy. But the fundamental causes of the lack of achievement have not been studied in depth. On this basis, this paper aims to examine the causes of the low achievement and what are the solution strategies. Conclusion indicates that there are five obstacles for implementing the regulations: land prices, housing regulations, housing development authorities, community conditions, and developers as housing businesses. The solution strategies may be to evaluate the housing standards, applying progressive concepts to land ownership, determining the allocation of land for MBR in the land use regulation, and to incentives and disincentives for housing developers.
Trotoar Timur di Koridor Komersial Pecinan Kota Magelang dimanfaatkan sebagai shared space street dimana pengguna formalnya adalah pejalan kaki dan pesepeda. Sebelum pandemik, pejalan kaki menjadi pengguna dominan. The east sidewalk in the Magelang City Chinatown Commercial Corridor is used as a shared space street where the formal users are pedestrians and cyclists. Before the pandemic, pedestrians were the dominant users. The increasing interest in cycling, especially during a pandemic, makes cyclists also begin to balance the dominance of pedestrians, causing potential conflicts. Data collection methods were carried out by observing the physical path, the activities that occurred, actively participating as cyclists, and in-depth interviews with cyclists. The data is strengthened by literature studies related to placemaking, meaning, and shared space street. Data analysis was conducted based on the placemaking theory by Relph, PPS.org, and the meaning-finding approach according to Rapoport. Semiotic meanings are expressed in signage elements for cyclists that are more complete, visually attractive trails, and pathway corridors covered by shade trees make these elements meaningful in supporting cycling activities, such as relaxing cycling to resting. The researcher recommends adding street furniture which is explicit as a traffic calming cyclist to minimize conflicts that may occur due to the use of the lane together with pedestrians.
Limited space in densely populated area in cities becomes threat for safety and comfortableness for children need for outdoor playground. Kampung Badran in Yogyakarta has been declared as one of the children friendly kampungs. Thus, it is necessary to examine the parameters and indicators of safety and comfortableness to move based on the standard. This paper aims to study the level of safety and comfortableness in the playing space of children in the kampung as the manifestation of children friendly kampung. The data was collected by observing and taking photographs and analyzed with descriptive analytical method. The findings show that the conditions of facilities in the form of space are relatively adequate and safe. However, the condition of playing equipment and facilities are not safe and lacking of treatment. The children who are playing are prone to potential accidents such as sinking in, jammed in, and slippery. The participation of stakeholders in maintaining and developing the Kampung is highly needed because the kampung has potential assets to be example and role model for other kampung to achieve Children Friendly Kampung.
