This study is carried out to detennine the levels of benzoic acid and sorbic acid added as antimicrobial food additives to the varüJUsfoods such as ketchup, jam and non-alcoholic heverages which were sold in Ankara Local Markets, and compare the results with the levels pennitted by the Turkish Food Additives Regulation. Gas chromatographic method was applied to measure the leve/s of these agents.
