Background, Bariatric surgery includes a variety of procedures performed on people who have obesity. The study aimed to investigate the impact of nursing guidelines among bariatric surgery patients on minimizing the postoperative complications for patients with bariatric surgery. Research design, Quasi-experimental research design was utilized in this study. Sample, the study was conducted on a convenient sample of 50 adult patients with bariatric surgery who selected randomly (25 -study group and 25 -control group). Setting, data were collected from plastic surgery department at Assiut University Hospital. Tools, data were collected through two tools; patient informational assessment sheet and postoperative complications follow up sheet. Results, this study concluded that more than half of the sample in the study group were females. While the majority of the sample in control group 92% were females and 52.0 %were married. There was statistically significant difference as regarded pre and postoperative score for level of knowledge of study group about bariatric surgery except important of the efficiency of vital signs, knowledge about postoperative complications, an exercise carried out and good diet after the operation. Conclusion, there were significant differences improvements throughout the implementation of nursing guidelines among the study group. Recommendation, the study recommended that pamphlets and simple illustration booklet should be available for patients illiterate to with simple explain how to safely live after bariatric surgery.
Background: Women all over the world experience urinary incontinence, which could be physically or mentally upsetting as well as burdensome for the person and society especially during pregnancy. Aim: the study aimed to evaluate the effect of self-acupressure on k3 point on urinary leakage during pregnancy. Design: Quasi experimental research design was utilized to conduct the current study. Setting: It was conducted at Damnahur Medical National Institute, in the Obstetrics and Gynecology department. Sample: purposive sample of 100 pregnant women. Tools: Tool I: Structured interviewing questionnaire Tool II: RUIS Questionnaire Results: There was statistically significant difference between pre & post intervention regarding total score of RUIS questionnaire. Conclusion: Self acupressure on k3 point was effective in relieving severity of urinary leakage during pregnancy. Recommendations: Training Program for nurses about how to use K3 point self-Acupressure as safe, nonaggressive nursing intervention that consumes little time without resorting to pharmacological methods for pregnant women complaining from urinary leakage.
Background, Breast surgery typically can be divided into three general categories, reduction, augmentation, and reconstruction. A care bundle is a structured way of improving the process of care and patient outcomes. The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of nursing care bundle on outcomes for women undergoing breast surgeries. Research design, one shot case research design was utilized to conduct data of this study. Samples, the study was conducted on a convenience sample of available patients (30), female adult patients undergoing breast surgery. Setting; the study was conducted at plastic surgical department in Assiut University Hospitals. Tools, data were collected through four tools; the structured interview questionnaire, Patient assessment sheet, Surgical site infection grading system, Nursing care bundle. Results, There were a statistical significant difference between total scores of knowledge level, practice pre and post-operative (after 4 weeks) after implementing nursing care bundle (P=0.001). Conclusion, there is a significant differences improvements throughout implementation of nursing care bundle on outcomes for women undergoing breast surgeries. Recommendations, the study recommended that, pamphlets and simple illustration booklet should be available for women undergoing breast surgeries with simple explain how to safely live after breast surgery.
