This research was aimed to know about moral values in the textbook. Textbooks were analyzed by using critical discourse analysis (CDA) data was obtained through analyzing the whole texts. This study attempts to examined the moral values which appeared in the English textbook "When English Rings a Bell" for seventh of Junior high school or equivalent based on the curriculum and presidential decree to teach character education to students, which included 18 moral values and to describe the moral values represented in the practice of conversational texts. It was designed as content analysis in the form of descriptive qualitative research. The result of this study were (1) The most apparently of moral values found in the English textbook were social awareness, curiosity, and responsibility, and (2) Moral values in English textbook was found in the conversation text through implicitly in the form of a moral message conveyed by the writer. it can be concluded that the authors of this textbook focus more on social values such as social awareness, curiosity, responsibility in the form of teaching moral values as character education for students at an early age. Then, the textbook was contained the moral values based on the presidential decree about character education. The textbook was quite good, but it can be improved. The crucial problem of translating Indonesia to English language are the students’ lack of knowledge and mother tongue (source language) that two of them are grammar and vocabulary. The researcher focused to measure the correlation among grammar mastery and vocabulary size toward translation ability on report text at seventh semester students in State Islamic Institute of Palangka Raya that use quantitative method with a correlational design. The researcher’s instruments were three test which were grammar mastery, vocabulary size, and translation test that were tested to the 32 students’ translation class in academic year 2017/2018. The numerical data were analyzed by Pearson Product Moment that showed that: (1) the most students got “fail” (43.75%) grammar mastery, (2) the most students got “excellent” (46.875%) vocabulary size, (3) the most students got “enough” (87.5%) translation ability. The significant correlation among three variables were proved by correlation coefficient 0.604 (strong category), Fchange > Ftable = 8.349 > 3.33, and the contribution of grammar mastery and vocabulary size delivered 36.5%. Thus, it sums that students’ grammar mastery and vocabulary size correlate with the quality of students’ translation ability on report text at seventh semester students in academic year 2017/2018. The purpose of this research is to describe the relevance of reading materials in the “Bahasa Inggris” textbook for Vocational High School students in the XI grade, as well as the good textbook criteria proposed by Pusat Perbukuan, the Ministry of National Education, in terms of content, presentation, language use, and readability. The research used a descriptive qualitative study with a content analysis design. The instruments used to collect the data were a document study and observation in the form of checklists. The results demonstrated that the textbook "Bahasa Inggris" fulfilled the Pusat Perbukuan's recommendations for good learning materials. Because the average fulfillment score is 82.1 percent, the textbook is rated a "good" textbook. The textbook appeared adequate for use in the teaching-learning process, but it could be improved. This study was from the real phenomenon which showed that students were using google translate as media to improve their writing ability and learning motivation. The main problem was students’ lack of vocabulary and they wanted fast and instant translation. As a result, they preferred using google translate than doing their writing ability. The purpose of this research is to measure the correlation between students’ writing ability and learning motivation in google translate writing class of 2nd semester English education study program at IAIN Palangka Raya. This research was a correlational study using quantitative research method. Learning Motivation Questionnaire and Descriptive Text Writing Test were distributed to take the data from 58 student from 2nd semester in academic year 2020/2021 who took paragraph writing class. The sample was obtained through the use of the cluster random sampling technique. The result finding showed the calculation students’ writing ability and learning motivation was rvalue = 0.617 ≥ rtable = 0.258 and tvalue = 5.867118 ≥ ttable = 1.67252), it meant that Ha accepted and Ho rejected. In this case students’ writing ability had high relationship or gave influence to learning motivation in google translate class. Melalui kombinasi penelitian mendalam dan praktik mutakhir, desain kurikulum sekarang digunakan secara luas dalam kursus bahasa ESL/EFL di seluruh dunia. Dalam desain kurikulum, sekarang ada lebih banyak penekanan pada pengembangan model dari waktu ke waktu, dan guru sekarang lebih fokus pada desain kurikulum yang membangun pengetahuan dan keterampilan siswa dari waktu ke waktu, daripada hanya melibatkan siswa dalam kegiatan. Desain kurikulum merupakan bagian penting dalam pengajaran bahasa Inggris karena secara langsung berdampak pada proses belajar mengajar dan mempengaruhi keberhasilan siswa.
