Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menganalisis pendapatan usaha penggemukan sapi di perusahaan peternakan dan peternakan rakyat, kelayakan usaha penggemukan sapi potong di perusahaan peternakan dibandingkan dengan usaha penggemukan sapi potong di peternakan rakyat, dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi besaran pendapatan dari usaha penggemukan sapi potong di perusahaan dan peternak. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survey. Pengambilan wilayah sampel ditentukan secara Sampel Acak Klaster (Cluster Random Sampling) dan responden secara purposive sampling dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 60 responden. Analisis kelayakan finansial dikaji secara kuantitatif melalui analisis biaya dan manfaat, analisis laba rugi, analisis kriteria investasi, yaitu meliputi Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate Return (IRR), Net Benefit Cost Ratio (Net B/C), Payback Pariod (PP), dan Analisis Switching Value. Hasil analisis menunjukan bahwa usaha penggemukan di perusahaan peternakan untuk sapi jantan memiliki nilai NPV sebesar Rp. 7.472.015.043; B/C sebesar 3.09; IRR sebesar 30.15%; Usaha penggemukan sapi betina afkir memiliki nilai NPV sebesar Rp. 3.720.704.516,- B/C sebesar 4.87; IRR sebesar 34%; sementara usaha penggemukan sapi jantan di peternakan rakyat memiliki nilai NPV sebesar Rp. 61.825.470; B/C adalah 4.92; IRR sebesar 95%. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi besaran pendapatan untu usaha penggemukan sapi adalah jumlah ternak, harga bakalan, tenaga kerja dan harga jual, biaya pakan, dan bobot akhir ternak. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah usaha penggemukan sapi potong di Kabupaten Kupang baik yang dilakukan oleh peternak maupun perusahaan peternakan layak dijalankan. ©2016 dipublikasikan oleh JAS.
A study had been conducted to find out nutrient digestion and body weight gain of Balinese cows getting a basic ration of spear grass and Rosewood leaves supplemented with Falcata tree leaves. The study was using complete randomized block design with 4 ration treatments and 3 times repetition. Each repetition was using three Balinese cows. The weights of cows being used were in the range of 83-181 kg. Basic ration being given was arranged based on the percentage of dry ingredients namely: 80% of spear grass + 20% of rosewood leaves (A), 80% of spear grass + 20% of rosewood leaves + 10% of falcata tree leaves (B), 80% of spear grass + 20% of rosewood leaves + 15% of falcata tree leaves (C), and 80% of spear grass + 20% of rosewood leaves + 20% of falcata tree leaves (D), The variables being measured were: nutrient digestion and body weight gain. The result of the study showed that with the administration of 20% falcata tree leaves in the basic ration, it differed significantly (P<0.05) in increasing nutrient digestion and daily weight gain. The result of the study concluded that with the administration of falcata tree leaves in the basic ration of spear grass and rosewood leaves capable to increase nutrient digestion so that bacteria would optimally increase the utilization of fodder and led to a high weight gain of Balinese cows.
Kelompok Tani Nek’To Noapala terletak di Desa Kiuola Kecamatan Noemuti Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara. Desa ini memiliki beberapa potensi pertanian dan peternakan yang dapat dikembangkan oleh petani, salah satunya tanaman padi (Oriza sativa L.) dan hasil ikutan dari tanaman padi tersebut dimanfaatkan untuk produktivitas ternak sapi. Jerami padi merupakan limbah dari tanaman padi sebagai pakan ternak memiliki kadar protein rendah, berserat tinggi dan berdaya cerna rendah sehingga diperlukan adanya suatu perlakuan yaitu dengan teknologi fermentasi. Metode yang dipakai dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini berupa FGD( Foccus Discussion Group) dan praktek secara langsung. Proses fermentasi dilakukan dengan dua tahap yaitu tahap fermentasi dan pengeringan. Proses fermentasi berlangsung selama 21 hari secara anaerob. Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu jerami padi hasil fermentasi yang memiliki kualitas fisik cukup baik diantaranya memiliki tekstur yang lembut, warna kuning kecoklatan dan aroma seperti tapeserta hasilnya langsung diaplikasikan ke ternak sapi. Disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian ini dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat terkhususnya anggota kelompok tani Nek’To Noapala Desa Kiuola tentang pemanfaatan jerami padi secara fermentasi sebagai pakan alternatif bagi ternak sapi
This study determined the product flow, financial flow, and information flow in the beef cattle supply chain in each marketing agency of beef cattle in the North Central Timor Regency. The research method used was descriptive quantitative, which was carried out by a survey method. Determination of the sample using two methods: purposive sampling (applied to farmer respondents) and snowball sampling (to collect respondents from traders and butchers). Samples used in the study were 115 respondents consisting of 90 farmers, ten collectors, four inter-island cattle traders, six cattle butchers, and five meat retailers. The data was analyzed quantitatively, the presentation of the data was descriptive, and the added value of marketing was calculated using the Hayami method. The supply chain channel that occurs was quite simple, and there were five supply chain channels where identified. Channels 1 and 2 were the supply chain flow of live cattle to inter-island destinations and channels 3, 4, and 5, the cattle supply chain for the abattoir. In general, The product and financial flows were distributed vertically, while the information flow was vertical and horizontal. The highest added value of farmers was (60,6%), and marketing institutions or butchers was 25,1%.
This research aims to determine the performance of the beef processing industry in Kefamenanu City District and to analyze the amount of added value generated from beef processing in Kefamenanu City District. This research was conducted in the MSMEs VIVI meat processing industry, Kefamenanu City District, North Central Timor Regency. This study used the Surfei method with quantitative descriptive analysis. The variables observed were the performance of the meat processing industry and the added value of beef processing. The application of the balanced scorecard concept in analyzing the performance of VIVI MSMEs shows that from a financial perspective it has a good performance with an infinite CR value; average NPM 8,216%; an average ROA of 15,39% and an average ROI of 2,24 times of the investment value. From the customer perspective, it has a good performance with 51,49% of general customers who are satisfied and 49,79% of partner customers who are satisfied. For the perspective of internal business processes and the perspective of learning and growth have a good performance, respectively, with a value of 60,76% and 54,86%, respectively. It is concluded that the value added of beef products per kilogram of output is Rp. 48.060.00 for shredded products and beef jerky products of Rp. 37.551.00.
