The research was conducted to assess the medating role of emotion regulation mediate between mindfulness and psychological distress (depression, anxiety, stress). In the current study, correlation research design and purposive sampling was used to collect data from both public and private medical colleges. Sample was comprised of 216 participants (men; n=96; women; n= 120). Mindful Attention Awareness Scale (Brown & Ryan, 2003), Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (Gross & John, 2003), DASS 21 (Lovibond & Lovibond, 1995) along with demographic information sheet were used to assess target study variables. Results were analyzed through SPSS 21. Result showed significant relationship among all variables. Emotion regulation found to play as a mediator role between mindfulness and psychological distress (anxiety). The results of this study help clinical psychologists to devise improved training programs and therapeutic interventions for medical students for minimizing the distress so that medical students become able to perform better in their academic activities. Objective: This research aimed to examine the relationship among emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, and resilience in rescue workers.Study Design: Cross-sectional study.Place and Duration of Study: The study was conducted in the Lahore head office of rescue1122. Data was collected for the period of 5 months from 2nd August to 2nd December 2022.Materials and Methods: The study comprised 210 rescue workers, age range between 22 to 40 years (M=30.74, SD=5.00), and data was collected from Lahore (n=89) and Bhakkar (n=121) cities of Punjab Province, Pakistan, by employing purposive sampling.Results: The results of the current study showed that there was a significant positive correlation between Emotional Intelligence, Conflict Resolution, and Resilience, whereas the subscales of Emotional Intelligence (Perception of Emotions and Managing Own Emotions) were strong predictors of Resilience. Significant differences in Emotional Intelligence and Conflict Resolution were found in rescue workers of Lahore and Bhakkar city, but the same level of Resilience was found in employees of both cities.Conclusion: The present research concluded that there is a positive and strong relationship between emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, and resilience which describes that higher emotional intelligence and conflict resolution become the reason to have an increase in resilience.
Children, adolescents, and adults who stutter widely experience anxiety and avoid social situations; hence stuttering negatively affects their quality of life (Yaruss & Quesal, 2004). The study aims to investigate the relation between social anxiety, stigma perception, and quality of life among individuals who stutter and to examine if stigma perception mediates between social anxiety and quality of life. Participants of aged 11- 25 years (Mage =18.83, SD = 4.74, N = 117) were recruited using purposive and snowball sampling technique. Participants were screened based on dysfluency using DSM-5 (2013) stuttering criteria. Results revealed significant association between social anxiety, stigma perception, and quality of life. Mediation analysis also showed that stigma perception partially mediated the relation between social anxiety and quality of life in individuals who stutter. Furthermore, significant age differences were found in social anxiety and quality of life in individuals who stutter. The study concluded that stigma perception partially mediates the relationship between social anxiety and quality of life; therefore, social anxiety and perceived stigma need to be reduced to enhance stuttering individuals’ quality of life. Results highlight the importance of multidisciplinary approach in the management of stuttering.

The objective of this study was to find out the predictive role of spiritual intelligence for psychological wellbeing in university students and also to assess gender differences. For that reason, data of N = 250 ( M age = 21.8; SD = 1.9) students of undergraduate programs was taken from different universities of Pakistan. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, data was collected online (google form) by using purposive sampling technique and sample was comprised of 77 men and 173 women. Spiritual Intelligence (King, 2008 ) and Ryff’s 42-item Psychological Wellbeing Scale (Ryff, 1989 , Muzzafar & Rana, 2019 ) were utilized for measuring variables of the study. Results were analyzed via SPSS (version 21), Hierarchical Regression and t-Test were carried out. The study results revealed that spiritual intelligence is a significant positive predictor of psychological wellbeing. It was also found that male students have high level of spiritual intelligence and psychological wellbeing in comparison to female students. Results of this study provide an implication for instructors as well as educationists to design activities which provide facilitation in increasing spiritual intelligence of students.
