The research was conducted to assess the medating role of emotion regulation mediate between mindfulness and psychological distress (depression, anxiety, stress). In the current study, correlation research design and purposive sampling was used to collect data from both public and private medical colleges. Sample was comprised of 216 participants (men; n=96; women; n= 120). Mindful Attention Awareness Scale (Brown & Ryan, 2003), Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (Gross & John, 2003), DASS 21 (Lovibond & Lovibond, 1995) along with demographic information sheet were used to assess target study variables. Results were analyzed through SPSS 21. Result showed significant relationship among all variables. Emotion regulation found to play as a mediator role between mindfulness and psychological distress (anxiety). The results of this study help clinical psychologists to devise improved training programs and therapeutic interventions for medical students for minimizing the distress so that medical students become able to perform better in their academic activities. Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the quality of life (QoL) of substance use disorder (SUD) patients in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Design: A cross-sectional study Setting and Participants: 500 substance use disorder patients were selected from the seven drugs rehabilitation centers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Methods: This study was carried in seven drugs rehabilitation centers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan between August 08, 2019, and December 2020. A cross-sectional study design was used to assess the QoL among 500 substance use disorder adult patients who were taking initial rehabilitation treatment via a convenient sampling technique. The WHOQOL-BREF Field Trial Version was used to measure the QoL. Results: This study found that more than 75% (very poor: 27.8%, poor: 49.8%) substance use disorder patients had a poor perception of the QoL, 81% (very dissatisfied: 33.8%, dissatisfied: 47.2%) patients were dissatisfied with the overall perception of the health. The four domains of QoL of SUDs patients were also disturbed. Conclusion: The current finding of this study illustrated that people with SUDs need more attention for their QoL and well-being. Medical profession due to its vast diversity and sensitivity can exert great stress and exhaustion among working professionals. Objectives: The present research was aimed to explore the relationship between Work Flow and Burnout in medical professionals. Study Design: Correlational Research Design was used with convenient sampling strategy. Setting: Rashid Latif Medical Collage. Period: July to October 2019. Material & Methods: Work related Flow13 and Copenhagen Burnout Inventory15 were used to measure the variables. Correlation and Regression were used. Result: Significant inverse relationship between work flow and burnout. Similarly, Work enjoyment subscale of Work Flow come out to be the significant predictor of burnout and its subscale. Conclusion: research indicates that professionals who enjoy their work and keep their self-engaged in while working does not get easily exhausted.
Objective: This research aimed to examine the relationship among emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, and resilience in rescue workers.Study Design: Cross-sectional study.Place and Duration of Study: The study was conducted in the Lahore head office of rescue1122. Data was collected for the period of 5 months from 2nd August to 2nd December 2022.Materials and Methods: The study comprised 210 rescue workers, age range between 22 to 40 years (M=30.74, SD=5.00), and data was collected from Lahore (n=89) and Bhakkar (n=121) cities of Punjab Province, Pakistan, by employing purposive sampling.Results: The results of the current study showed that there was a significant positive correlation between Emotional Intelligence, Conflict Resolution, and Resilience, whereas the subscales of Emotional Intelligence (Perception of Emotions and Managing Own Emotions) were strong predictors of Resilience. Significant differences in Emotional Intelligence and Conflict Resolution were found in rescue workers of Lahore and Bhakkar city, but the same level of Resilience was found in employees of both cities.Conclusion: The present research concluded that there is a positive and strong relationship between emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, and resilience which describes that higher emotional intelligence and conflict resolution become the reason to have an increase in resilience.
