Hydrogen Gas Sensing by Sol-Gel-Derived Proton-Conducting Glass Membranes.-The porous 5P 2 O 5 ·95SiO 2 glass obtained by heating gel at 700 • C has a specific surface area of 250m 2 /g and exhibits room-temperature conductivities of 6x10 −5 and 2x10 −2 g/cm under 0.54 and 0.9 water vapor pressure. These high conductivities are regarded as fast proton conductors accelerated by molecular water-bonded POH groups. -
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
