Background. The process of aging causes various health problems namely the physiological changes of the elderly. The increase in number of elderly is directly proportional to the problems of elderly, including the decreased cognitive function and physical activity. This phenomenon is most commonly found in people over the age of 60 years, but also can attack the age of 40 years. Methods. type of research using quantitative research with quasi experimental pre-posttest design. The Sampling method uses non-probability sampling with purposive sampling. The sample of this research is 62 elderly, divided into treatment and control groups in Puskesmas Jetak Tuban. The questionnaire in this research uses MMSE for cognitive function and Index katz for physical activity. The research was conducted from March to April 2018. Results. the statistical test results uses wilcoxon sign rank test obtained significant values of cognitive function intervention group and physical activity variables, before and after given the intervention, the Elderly Cognitive Care has a calculated value Z= -4.32 and Z = -3.94 with significant value α = 0.00. This result means if value of p value ≤0.05, then the hypothesis is accepted, this means that there is influence of Elderly Cognitive Care to cognitive function and physical activity of elderly in Puskesmas Jetak Tuban. Conclusion. There is an enhancement in cognitive function and physical activity in the elderly, after being given Elderly Cognitive Care. This intervention can be used as management for the elderly against the reduction in cognitive function and physical activity.
Introduction: Concentration is an important aspect for a person in achieving learning and is related to the working ability of the brain. Maximum brain performance increases concentration, so that changes in parts of the brain also occur so there will be a decrease in the level of concentration. Objective: The purpose of this study is to compare the influence of the brain gym on student learning at STIKES NU Tuban. Method: The design of this study was Quasy Experimental by designing a pretest-posttest with a control group. The sample uses a systematic random sampling taken by 26 respondents (13 experimental group respondents and 13 control group respondents). Data collection using a questionnaire. Analysis using the Mann Whitney test. Results: Asymp results were obtained. Sig. = 0,000 which means the help of the composition of brain gym for the concentration of student learning. Discussion: Giving brain gym intervention as an ice breaker can make a good contribution to the concentration of student learning. Brain gym can be applied to students, just before the lesson starts or in the middle of the lesson, and the implementation time is approximately 10-15 minutes.
Abstract-Head injury is the main cause of disability and mortality. Several factors that can lead to high disability are the initial GCS score and the treatment duration. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of initial GCS score and treatment duration to the independence level of patients with head injury. This study was an observational analytic study with retrospective review of 107 samples from medical record dr. R. Koesma Tuban Hospital in the period from January to April 2016. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling with the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Measurement was conducted using Functional Independence Measure (FIM). The result analyzed using contingency coefficient test. The test results contingency showed that both factors (GCS (p = 0.000) and duration of treatment (p = 0.000)) was significant to the independence level of head injury patients. The conclusion of this study was the initial GCS score, and duration of treatment were factor that associated with head injury patients independence level. Therefore, nurses need to improve the management of head injury patients in the emergency phase without neglecting the initial GCS score and duration of treatment.
Adaptation in adolescents involves the occurrence of individuals with their ability to be able to accept themselves with the surrounding environment related to how to overcome problems using the coping process. This study aims to look at the use of coping strategies with adjustment in seventh grade adolescents in the Khairunnas Tahfidz Middle School Entrepreneur. This type of research is correlational using a cross sectional time approach with a population of 89 adolescents selected by simple random sampling found 73 adolescents. The independent variable is the coping strategy and the dependent is the adjustment that is measured using the contingency coefficient test. The results of research conducted on seventh grade adolescent Tahfidz Middle School Entrepreneur Khairunnas Tuban after being analyzed using SPSS 23 it is known that the Contingency Coefficient test is ρ = 0,000 and the value of r =0.523 (0.5) means it shows the value of ρ α (0,000 0.05) which means that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, there is a relationship between coping strategies and adjustment in the seventh grade teenagers of the Tahfidz Middle School Entrepreneur Khairunnas Tuban. From the description above it can be concluded that there is a relationship between coping strategies with adolescent VII grade adolescents in the Tahfidz Middle School Khairunnas Entrepreneur with results based on the Contingency Coefficient Test obtained ρ = 0,000 with a significance level of r = 0.05
Introduction: Academic stress is a condition where there is a mismatch between academic demands and abilities. Students dealing with the burden of lessons that are considered quite heavy at school will be able to cause stress to adolescents at this time, adolescents generally experience pressure from the school and sometimes from parents demanding children to get high grades. Non-pharmacological therapy is a type of treatment/prevention that has no impact/effect on internal organs compared to pharmacological therapy which uses drugs. One of the non-pharmacological treatments that can reduce academic stress is Five-finger’s hypnotherapy, Five-finger’s hypnosis is a form of self-hypnosis that can have a high relaxation effect, thereby reducing anxiety, tension, and stress. This study aims to determine the effect of Five-finger’s hypnotherapy on the level of academic stress in seventh-grade adolescents at Tahfidz Entrepreneur Junior High School, Khairunnas Tuban. Methods: This type of research is pre-experimental using a one-group pre-post test design approach with a cohort approach. The instrument used in this study was the academic stress questionnaire. The population in this study was 102 adolescents who were selected by a simple random sampling technique, obtaining 81 adolescents. The Inclussion criteria: Class VII youth of SMP Tahfidz Entrepreneur Khairunnas Tuban and Willing to be a respondent. The independent variable in this study is five-finger’s therapy and the dependent variable is academic stress. Result & Analysis: The results of the research conducted after being analyzed using the Wilcoxon test with a significance level of =<0.05 was proven to reduce the level of academic stress with a value of = 0.000<0.05 which means that H1 is accepted, namely there is an effect of five finger`s hypnotherapy on the level of academic stress in students VII graders. Discussion: From the description above, it can be concluded that five finger hypnotherapy affects reducing academic stress levels in seventh-grade adolescents at Tahfidz Entrepreneur Junior High School, Khairunnas Tuban.
