Terpenes U 0200Antibacterial Novel Phenolic Diterpenes from Podocarpus macrophyllus D. Don.-Sempervirol-type diterpenes inumakiol A (I) and B (II), and totarol-type diterpenes, e. g. inumakiol F (III) and H (IV), are isolated from the methanol extract of the bark.
Constiuents (II)-(IV) show antibacterial activity againstPorphyromonas gingivalis. -(SATO, K.; SUGAWARA, K.; TAKEUCHI, H.; PARK, H.-S.; AKIYAMA, T.; KOYAMA, T.; AOYAGI, Y.; TAKEYA*, K.; TSUGANE, T.; SHIMURA, S.; Chem.
Terpenes U 0200Cytotoxic Bisnor-and Norditerpene Dilactones Having 7α,8α-Epoxy-9,11-enolide Substructure from Podocarpus macrophyllus D. Don. -A series of novel bisnorand norditerpene dilactones of type (I) and (II), named makilactones, are isolated along with many structurally related compounds from root and bark of the title plant. The structures of podolactone B and inumakilactone B are revised to be (III) and (IV), respectively. (I) and (II) show potent cytotoxic activity against P388 murine leukemia cells. -(SATO, K.; INABA, Y.; PARK, H.-S.; AKIYAMA, T.; KOYAMA, T.; FUKAYA, H.; AOYAGI, Y.; TAKEYA*, K.; Chem. Pharm.
