An investigation is made of the structure of the short‐range order in amorphous (liquid) Fe5Ge3, Co5Ge3, and Ni5Ge3 films by electron diffraction considering both calculation results and analysis of the atomic radial distribution functions as well as comparison of experimental and theoretical intensity curves of coherent electron scattering (for various hypothetical models). It is known that the structure of the investigated amorphous germanides is rather complicated and can be described in first approximation by the model of the complex quasi‐eutectics consisting of monogermanide clusters and groups of atoms of the corresponding metal. Amorphous films of intermetallic compounds formed by strongly interacting components can be used as structure models of the alloys.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
