This study aims to describe students' ability to solve mathematical problems from a commognitive point of view, It will describe their word use, visual mediators, narratives, and routines. This type of research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The research method is comprised of four steps: (1) preparation, (2) collecting data, (3) transcribing the data, and (4) analyzing the data. The results of the study showed that the subject manifested visual markers of algebraic expressions in verbal terms and used words symbolically. The subject used sketching as a visual mediator, and the sketch was divided into parts. Narrative was used by students in relation to broad rectangular theorems and the concepts of addition, subtraction, and multiplication. The subject carried out a routine to solve the problem, which consisted of writing down what was known, dividing the problem into several parts, identifying the purpose of the problem, and making a sketch to determine how much fabric remained unused.
Doing research and publication in the form of scientific article is not part of teachers' duties as an educator. Conducting research particularly class action research, however, is a necessity for teachers to solve some problems experienced in class. The needs to publish an article from research result emerges from the importance of sharing research result conducting in class. This research result may solve similar problems happened in other classes and experinced by other teachers. High school mathematics teachers in Kediri city encounter difficulties in transforming research result into a scientific article. This community service program provides a training and accompaniment in writing a scientific article. This program involves some activities, i.e. (1) elucidating the structure of scientific articles and its description, (2) giving examples of scientific articles from research results, (3) practicing in writing scientific article, and (4) presenting article results from practice section. This program is expected to encourage high school mathematics teachers in Kediri city to have a scientific article and to publish the article in seminars or scientific journals.

This study aim to investigate the characteristics of students' sensory mathematical imagination of in solving mathematics problems. This study includes qualitative research with two students of VIII grade junior high school used as subjects. To determine the characteristics of students sensory mathematical imagination who appeared in solving mathematics problems, researchers use the problem sheet as a supporting instrument in this study. The problem sheet consists of a question item that serves to stimulate appear of students sensory mathematical imagination. For accuracy of data using triangulation method of observation, students answers, and interviews. The results showed characteristics of students sensory mathematical imagination in solving mathematics problems is appear of the idea based on perception due to stimulate of the problem, actualization information by analogy according to what people think, the activity involves body movement (sensory motor), can be seen through visual representation.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
