Currently. the self-training approach is being :rcconiniodated for a one-on-one interaction between students and computers and being used for the most practical applications of Computer Based Training (CBT). Engineering applications and technological issues can be presented t o engineering students via computers through the use o f Computer-Assisted Instructions ( C A I ) .These systems can be utilized within a classrooni environment to support than supplant engiiieering instructors. One o f tlie main objectives of instruction;d systems designed for engineering applications. is to help engineering students appraise and develop their knowledge about a particular engineering topic and thereafter master the techniques of resolving engineering problems via computer systems. This task can be accomplished by efficiently utilizing the knowledge o f engineering educators. This paper will present the design methodology behind a productive engineering computer-based training system from the hardware and software aspects. Moreover. a case study of a C A I system developed i o r the College o f Engineering at Southern Universitv will be presented to facilitate t h e imp;ict o f C A I t r n i n i n g f a c i l i t i e s o n e n g i nee r i n g s t ude n ts a n d t he e n g i nee r i n g curricu 111 111.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
