The concept of service, which has an important place in meeting the needs of consumers, has had to develop itself in the historical process with industrial and social development. The concept of service, which is experiencing a natural development process, forces the companies that provide services to innovate in their product service designs, with the developments in technology and technology in the market today. Competition is based on innovations in service designs and their acceptance by consumers. Accommodation businesses, which are one of the main businesses of the tourism industry, have to reconsider their service designs with the effect of these developments in the market. This study focuses on the service designs of brand hotel businesses in Antalya Belek region. In this context, the study aims to reveal whether and how hotel businesses develop their service designs and how innovation is used in service design with the effect of technology. The study has employed semi-structured interview to collect qualitative data. Belek region was chosen as the universe of the study and the sample consists of five hotel businesses. The research was conducted by using the knowledge of senior hotel managers and department (department) managers. A questionnaire consisting of three parts was prepared for data collection. In the first part, there exist information about enterprises, in the second part, the demographic characteristics and information of the managers participating in the research, and in the third part, there are five questions asked to the managers. As the finding, it was found that respondents are aware of the importance of service design in hospitality industry. They design their service by using technology almost in all departments.
Introduction and aim. With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, healthcare workers continue to work selflessly and intensively despite many occupational hazards. Although various studies have been carried out to evaluate the experiences of nurses who play an important role in the fight against the pandemic and the effects thereof, qualitative studies carried out using the photovoice technique are very limited. The aim of this study was to evaluate the experiences of nurses working during the COVID-19 pandemic and show the impact that COVID-19 has had on nurses’ work and daily life using creative photographic data. Material and methods. This qualitative study employed a participatory action research design, and photovoice technique was used. Research data were collected from nurses working in COVID-19 clinics of various hospitals between May and September 2021. Data analysis was performed via a phenomenological interpretation method. Results. Five themes emerged from the data: (1) burnout, (2) anxiety, (3) social isolation, (4) emphasis on professional value, and (5) the value of life. Each theme was presented with representative photographic and written narratives provided by the participants. Conclusion. The findings of this study suggest that nurses experience problems such as burnout, anxiety, and social isolation. All the participants associated these problems with the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on work and daily life. On the other hand, the participants emphasized professional value and the value of life despite all the negativities and risks.
Aim: The COVID-19 virus, which emerged in Wuhan, China, spread all over the world and turned into a major epidemic. As in all countries, many precautions have been taken by health authorities in Turkey to reduce the spread of the epidemic. This study aims to evaluate the taken precautions from the perspective of health personnel. Subjects and Method: The population of the descriptive study was composed of public health personnel working in Konya. The sample size was calculated as 387 by random sampling method with known universe. The highest number of participants that can be reached via online questionnaire without quota distinction was targeted. The form used to collect the data was prepared by the authors with the literature review after the expert opinions were taken. The statistical analysis was performed by SPSS 22.0. Result: In the study, which was provided by the participation of 1070 public health personnel, the data were collected by online survey method. 37.2% of the participants in the study are nurses, 34.1% are physicians, 14.1% are midwives and 14.6% are members of other health professions. The health personnel think that the use of masks control the infection at 96.8% rate, hand hygiene at 96.5%, social distance rules at 97.7%, curfews at 95.8% and the use of gloves at 67.9%, and these precautions reduce the course of the epidemic. Conclusion: The majority of the healthcare personnel find the precautions sufficient. The deactivation of precautions without adequate epidemic control is very important in terms of effective epidemic management and reducing the burden on healthcare personnel.
