Heart failure patients generally experience activity intolerance resulting in functional limitations and decreased of self care abilities. One of the systems identified Orem in patients with self-care fulfillment barriers is the supportive educational system, which is an effort to provide assistance to patients who need educational support in the hope that patients will be able to need independent care. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of supportive educational programs on self care for heart failure patients. This research method was a quasy-experimental research with a pre-post-test control group design approach. A sample of 28 respondents were divided into treatment groups that received a supportive educational program and a control group that was given education according to discharge planning procedures at Mangusada Regional Hospital. The questionnaire used was Self Care Heart Failure Index (SCHFI). Data were analyzed using Independent T-test. The result of this study showed that there were significant differences between self care in the intervention and control group with a p-value (0.017), where p < (0.05) which means that statistically providing supportive educational programs was more effective compared to ordinary education. Providing supportive educational programs can be used as nursing interventions to improve independent care of patients with heart failure.
ABSTRACTBackround: Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) is a progressive health problem with high mortality and morbidity in both developed and developing countries. In Mangusada General Hospital, cases of heart failure are the top 10 cases. One of the conditions that aggravate patients with congestive heart failure is obesity. Determining the level of obesity can use anthropometric measurements, one of which is the measurement of Body Mass Index (BMI). Aims: This study was conducted with the aim to determine the relationship between the relationship between body mass index and mortality of CHF patients in Mangusada Hospital. This type of research is an analytical study with a cross sectional approach using a Gamma correlation analysis Studi Korelasi Antara BMI dengan Mortalitas ...
Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases with characteristics of hyperglycemia that occur due to abnormal insulin secretion and insulin performance. Prevention of the occurrence of DM complications can be done by obediently doing good self-management behavior. Self-management compliance of good diabetes mellitus can achieve success if individuals have the knowledge, skill, and self-efficacy to manage diabetes mellitus. Self-efficacy determines how a person feels, thinks, motivates himself, and behaves from time to time. This study aimed to determine the correlation between self-efficacy and self-management compliance of diabetes mellitus patients. This study used the Cross-Sectional approach with a number of samples was 139 respondents. The sample selection used nonprobability sampling, especially purposive sampling. Data collection tools used questionnaires. Self-efficacy could be measured using the general self-efficacy questionnaire (GSE) and self-management compliance could be measured using the DSMQ (Diabetes Self-Management Questionnaire). Data analysis used Spearman Rank correlation analysis. The results obtained that p-value 0,0001 (p <0,05), therefore it could be concluded that there was a correlation between self-efficacy and self-management compliance of diabetes mellitus patients. Researchers suggest that health care workers can help patients with diabetes mellitus in improving their self-efficacy by providing motivation and IEC regarding patients’ self-management with diabetes mellitus.
Introduction: The Emergency Department (ED) nurses are the first health care professionals to treat patients infected during COVID-19 pandemic. The workload of ED nurses is quite heavy because generally patients who are rushed to the ED are emergency patients who need to get health services as quickly and accurately as possible. This study aimed to determine the prevalence and associated factors of burnout risk among Emergency Nurses during COVID-19 pandemic in Bali. Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out on the risk of burnout among emergency nurses in Bali. This research was conducted in June 2021 involving 85 emergency nurses who are members of the Indonesian emergency and disaster nurse association in Bali. The instrument used to identify the nurses’ burnout is the Maslach Burnout Inventory Indonesian version. Statistical analysis was carried out using the Spearman Rank test with a level of significance (α<0.05). Results: The ED nurses burnouts during the COVID-19 pandemic in Bali have average burnout ranged from 9.8 to 34.58. Most of the respondents (72.9%) were in mild emotional exhaustion, 69.4% experienced moderate depersonalization and 45.9% had low personal accomplishment. Hospital resource have co-morbidities and previous experience of treating patients with infectious diseases statistically correlated with ED nurses burnouts.
