AN EVALUATION OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN COMMUNICATION ABILITY AND PROFICIENCY IN TEACHING IN TERMS OF STUDENT PERCEPTIONS (Physical Education and Sport Field) ABSTRACTThe aim of this study is to present the relationship between physical education and sport instructors' communication and teaching skills according to the student perceptions. The participants of the research are 458 students from the Physical Education and Sport Departments/Vocational Schools in Ahi Evran, Karadeniz Technical, Atatürk and Muğla Universities. The questionnaires, "Instructors' Communication Skills" and "Instructor Evaluation", designed by Blatt and Carolyn (1993) and applied to the Turkish contexts by Ergin and Geçer (1999), are used to collect data.As a result of the statistical analysis of the data in this descriptive study, it is found that the instructors have effective communication skills but they should improve their communication abilities. Furthermore, it is understood that there is a meaningful relationship between physical education and sport instructors' communication and teaching skills in the positive way (r=571; p<0.01).
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a member of the ALDH gene superfamily. Aldehyde dehydrogenases (ALDHs) are responsible for the metabolism of aldehydes (exogenous and endogenous) through NAD(P) + -dependent oxidation to their corresponding carboxylic acids or CoA esters. Different biological functions have been attributed to the different ALDH family members. The cytosolic enzyme ALDH1A1 is involved in the catalysis of retinol (vitamin A) metabolite retinaldehyde to retinoic acid (RA). RA acts as a ligand for the nuclear receptors retinoic receptor (RAR) and the retinoid X receptor (RXR) and therefore regulates the transcriptional activity of genes involved in multiple important processes including proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis.
The goal of the current study is to examine the role of parental attitudes, social economic status, and individuals' religious beliefs in university students' attitudes towards gender, racial, religious, and homosexual discrimination. The sample of the study consisted of 643 (408 male and 335 female) university students attending Sport Science and Physical Education programs in large urban public universities in Turkey. Demographic questionnaire and Discriminative Attitudes inventory were employed. Multiple regression was applied to understand and document the predictive role of the study variables in the participants' homosexual discriminative attitudes. The researchers found that perceived parental attitudes and religiosity had statistically group differences in the individuals' discriminatory attitudes. Moreover, the findings indicated that parental attitudes, social economic status, and religious belief were significant predictors of university students' attitudes towards homosexuality. The study implications and future directions were discussed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
