This test aims to determine the durability value of the crushed stone material obtained from the Batupapan River, Telluwanua. Marshall's soaking method is used to determine the durability of this Laston AC-Base mixture. The duration of soaking used is 30 minutes to 48 hours with a stability value of 2455.26 kg – 2136.08 kg, a flow value of 3.30 mm – 4.60 mm, and for a durability value at a duration of 30 minutes to 36 hours is still below the maximum value of durability (below 90%) while 48-hour soaking does not meet (above 90%).
Aggregate is one of the key components that determine abilities dry carry a load of traffic if it is a river in Sidrap County with aggregates of rock and sand, potentially used as paving materials. The point of this study is to know the characteristics of river aggregate Bila, the characteristics of asphalt, the characteristics of filler, and the composition of the mixture and the AC-Base mixed characteristics. To find out the purpose of this study, conducted examinations and testing in the laboratory according to the general specifications of the 2018 Highways construction maintenance, using conventional marshall and Marshall Immersion methods. As for inspection and testing of aggregate characteristics, asphalt and fillers meet the specifications as paving materials for the road. Throughout AC-Base compound design acquired crude aggregate 53,42%, soft aggregate 37,00%, filler 4,58% with optimum asphalt 5,00%. The mixture characteristics of stability, flow, VIM, VMA, and VFB that use conventional marshall methods, and the marshall stability value are leftover from the test marshall immersion meet general specifications of the 2018 Highways construction maintenance that is 96,52% ≥ 90,00%.
Clay soil is a type of cohesive soil that has low shear strength but high compressibility. The purpose of the study was to determine the physical properties of soil originating from Rantebua Village, Rantebua District, North Toraja Regency, and to determine the effect of adding gypsum to soil originating from Rantebua Village, Rantebua District, north Toraja Regency by direct shear testing. The research method includes testing the phy properties of the soil and mechanical testing on direct shear. The result of the direct shear test that has been obtained shows that each soil sample mixed with gypsum at a composition 12%, 20%, and 28% has an increase in value (c) and value (ϕ). According to the USCS, it is classified as a fine-grained soil type with low to moderate plasticity, then for the result of the direct shear test in the presence of a mixture of gypsum into four soil samples, it can have an increasing effect on the value of (c) and value (ϕ) so that the bearing capacity of the soil becomes better than the soil condition before it was mixed with gypsum.
The Galang-Galang River or also known as the Binanga Karaeng River is a border river between the Polewali Mandar Regency (Polman) which was formerly known as Polmas before separating from South Sulawesi Province. During the rainy season, the water in this river often overflows and can even pose a danger to plantation and rice field farmers around the two border areas. Some of the rainwater that falls on the surface erodes the soil so that it is carried by the flow of water into the river downstream to make the sediment deposits increase. Sediment formed in the flow of the Galang - Galang river will cause a lack of river capacity during the dry season and in the rainy season, it will cause flooding. In this study, direct measurements and sampling of bottom sediment and floating sediment were carried out at three river points. The purpose of the study was to analyze deductions of basic sedimentary transports and sediments floating in the galange-Galang river. The study conducted direct measurements as well as retrieval of basic sedimentary samples and sediment rising at three points of the river. Basic sedimentary transport was calculated using the van rjin method, and for levitating sediments, it was calculated by a momentary method. From the results of the analysis, the bottom sediment transport discharge in the upstream is 4x10-4 tons/day, in the middle, it is 0.0891 tons/day, and in the downstream, it is 1x10-4 tons/day. Meanwhile, the floating sediment transport discharge is 0.208 tons/day upstream, 0.278 tons/day in the middle, and 0.121 tons/day downstream, where floating sediment transport is measured at a very small discharge so that the results are obtained are also small.
Soil investigation is an effort to obtain underground information for planning civil building foundations. The existence of a soil investigation can determine the bearing capacity of the foundation. One type of foundation that is planned is a caisson foundation. Soil investigation includes, among others, soil drilling, soil sampling, field testing and laboratory testing. A Referring to the technical data, the caisson foundation plan scheme used has a diameter of 60-1000cm, the selection of the most suitable diameter is adjusted to the load plan of the superstructure while the foundation depth is recommended to pass through a bedrock layer of 20-30cm. Technically, the soil layer is sufficient to withstand vertical loads, this is indicated by the value of Qc>150kg/cm2 and NSPT>60, but the location of the building is on sloping land with the distribution of bedrock layers that have a slope following the profile of the soil surface, so the potential for uplift is ) can occur due to lateral forces, this is also supported by the uneven embankment material from the original soil surface profile so that the load acting is uneven on the embankment layer.
